PRAYER BREAKFAST TICKETS…FREE – The annual Sioux Falls Prayer Breakfast will be held on Friday, April 14 at the Ramkota Exhibition Hall, doors open at 6:30am. This year's message will be shared by Detective J. Warner Wallace, a self-proclaimed “angry atheist” for 35 years. Shalom still has 16 tickets available on a first come first serve basis. Please contact Sarah Lieuwen if you would like a ticket. REINVESTMENT KICK OFF – Save the date for Sunday, April 30 as we celebrate our Reinvestment partnership with Furniture Mission, Mission Haiti, and Safe Families For Children. Members will have the opportunity to speak to each of these organizations and find ways to get involved. Join us as we grow a heart of service!

KID ZONE - PreK- 1st grade will be upstairs in the triple room. Ask your child “Who they should follow?” 2nd-5th graders will be downstairs this week. They are learning about perseverance. Each class downstairs is looking for a speaker for this Sunday, April 2. Have you persevered through something? Are you willing to share your story to your child’s class on your challenge/struggle and how you persevered through it? If so, please let Danielle or your child’s teacher know by Thursday, March 30. CHILDREN AT THE TABLE – Please return the devotional books as soon as you and your child have gone through it so others have the opportunity to read it. Also, after reading the devotional book, the next step is for you and your child to attend a class on Children at the Table. This class will be offered Saturday, April 8 at 6:30pm. Please contact your Community Group Elder, Pastor Kyle, Brett Keepers, or Danielle if you and your child are ready and wanting to take this class. Thank you! ARE YOU CRAFTY? We are looking for 4-5 people who love making crafts and decorations to be part of a decoration committee for Maker Fun Factory VBS. First Christian Reformed Church is putting on a decoration workshop on April 22 from 8:30am-12:30pm. If you are interested in joining the committee and able to attend this event, please contact Danielle. PALM SUNDAY (April 9) - If you have a child(ren) the ages of 3-7 years old and they want to wave a palm branch down the aisles and stand on stage on Palm Sunday, please have them meet in the fellowship hall at 8:45am Sunday morning, April 9! EASTER SUNDAY- Does your child love to sing or play an instrument? We are looking for children to be a part of worship Easter Sunday. If your child is interested or has a group of friends that are interested in performing, please contact Danielle.

SERVING AT THE FURNITURE MISSION - Please consider joining us Saturday, April 1 at the Furniture Mission (209 N Nesmith Ave, Sioux Falls) as volunteers from Shalom gather to help those in need in Sioux Falls by delivering donated furniture for them to set up homes for their families. We will need several volunteers, both men and women to get this job done! We start at 8am with devotions and breakfast and finish up around 11am. You will be blessed by helping out! Contact Jason Hiemstra at [email protected] and let him know that you can be counted on as a willing Shalom volunteer! GUEST PASTOR – Pastor Norlyn Van Beek will be conducting our morning service on Sunday, April 2. EASTER LILIES - The Worship Team would like to invite the congregation to donate Easter Lilies in memory of a loved one. The lilies will be displayed in the sanctuary Easter morning. You are welcome to take the lilies home after the Easter morning service. Donations forms are located at the Welcome Center and attached in midweek announcements. Please place your completed donation form, along with a $10 donation, in the Worship Team's mailbox (located in the East set of mailboxes of the fellowship hall) by Sunday, April 9. A list of loved ones and donors will be listed in the announcements on Wednesday, April 12. MINISTRY MOMENTS – Over the next few weeks we will have the opportunity to hear testimonies from members whose lives have been impacted by the 3 ministries that Shalom has chosen to partner with as part of the Reinvestment Project. You will also find in your bulletin on each of these weeks, a flyer with more information about how you can be involved in these ministries.

SIOUX FALLS CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS has several job openings for the 17-18 school year. Job postings and applications can be found at http://www.siouxfallschristian.org/about-sfc/jobopportunities.cfm.

FACING DARKNESS (A Samaritan’s Purse Film) - As the Ebola pandemic was sweeping across West Africa in the spring of 2014, one organization was willing to step up and fully commit its people and resources to provide comfort, compassion, and care to the hurting people of Africa… all in the name of Jesus. But when the deadly virus infected its own medical personnel, including Dr. Kent Brantly, the epic crisis truly hit home for Samaritan’s Purse and its leader Franklin Graham. Facing Darkness tells an incredible true story of faith, determination, and prayer … and of how God performed a miracle! Facing Darkness will be playing in Sioux Falls at Stadium 14 and Century East Theaters on Thursday, March 30 only. ALL NATIONS CITY CHURCH - On Sunday, April 2 at 6pm let's celebrate our diversity and unity in Jesus! All Nations City Church (a multi-cultural, local ministry that organizes worship gatherings) is hosting a special service at Asbury United Methodist Church (2425 S. Western Ave., Sioux Falls). Features: a Community Youth Choir, message by John Glasser of Collision Ministry, worship by Seth Dekkenga of shift115.com, good refreshments & fellowship. All are welcome! HOPE HAVEN, INC. will host their Annual Benefit Auction on Friday evening, April 7 at Te Slaa Trucking (corner of Hwys 75 & 18). Help support the local and global ministries of Hope Haven through this exciting evening of fun and fellowship. The evening’s schedule is: doors open at 4:30pm; food booth and buy-it-now table opens at 5:00pm; the live auction begins at 5:30pm. Visit our website www.hopehaven.org for a list of items that will be auctioned off. The whole family is invited to this community event! RESILIENT - You are invited to attend the showing of the documentary Resilient on May 1 at 7:30pm at First Christian Reformed Church. This is a short documentary featuring Judy Bode, sister of June Bloem. Judy was diagnosed with a thought-to-be incurable cancer at the age of 10. That was 46 years ago! Her story includes coming to understand just how sick she was as a child and learning how that miraculous cure impacted her life, her education, and her faith. Her documentary follows her journey of cancer, secondary malignancies, heart failure, heart transplant, and recovery. This award winning film was produced for the purpose of educating and equipping cancer patients, communities, medical students, and physicians about the late effects of cancer cures. Resilient includes personal testimony of cancer survivors and expert interviews with cardiologists and oncologists about these late effects. Trailer: https://vimeo.com/147913748. There are many reasons that Judy should not have survived these multiple life threatening diagnoses. Yet, by God's seemingly endless grace, He has chosen to sustain her life. Judy will speak at the event. You will learn and grow from her experiences as a cancer survivor, a heart transplant recipient, and as a child of God. DORDT DISCOVERY DAYS! Registration opens April 1 for Dordt Discovery Days! DDD is Dordt College’s five-day camp from June 19 to 23, for students who have completed 6th, 7th, or 8th grade. This camp offers more than 30 classes in the arts, sciences, and recreation. Residential, commuter, and day camp options are available.
