SHAKY RUSSELL
Shaky Russell is one of today’s top Elvis Presley / fifties & sixties tribute performers with a style and energy that
resonates that of the King himself
Shaky is the ultimate Elvis fan, imitating his every move and sound to perfection. It all started when he saw the
Elvis film 'Loving You' at the age of 5, and started imitating Elvis' voice, a habit which turned into a near
obsession. From the way he breathes and his interpretation of a song, to adopting his attitude, expressions,
stance and body movement, Elvis' performances are lovingly and respectfully brought to life in every detail.
This spectacular artist has performed across South Africa and abroad, with the highlight being performing
about 100 yards away from the shrine of the King himself, at the home of Elvis Presley (Graceland, Memphis
Tennessee). He also had the opportunity to record at the legendary Sun Studio, which has been used by many
stars including Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison and of course Elvis himself.
Shaky offers an entire package: the voice, the moves, the suave outfits, the charisma and most importantly a
humble and down to earth approach to people. Taking the audience back to the innocent yet raw sound
that was Rock 'n Roll, Shaky impresses upon his audiences that he does not impersonate, nor does he imitate
the King. He is instead a tribute performer who aims to create an appreciation for the King. "I don't talk to the
audiences as Elvis but about Elvis," says Shaky.
Apart from featuring in the many productions doing Elvis he has also featured in various professional shows
performing the hits of Ritchie Valens, Shakin Stevens, Buddy Holly, Sha na na, Cliff Richard and more. He has
also devised, co-produced and played the lead roles at top venues worldwide in hit shows such as Walking in
Memphis, Rock Legends, Rock Around the Clock, Twist & Shout, Solid Gold, Elvis Forever, One Night, Vegas
Fever, Variety Spectacular, Whole Lotta Shaky, and Heat of the Night, to name but a few.
