THANK YOU
Dear YIEB Congregants:
A meaningful and wonderful Rosh Hashana and
Yom Kippur was had by all. Thank you to all the
Baale Tefila, Baale Koreh, Baale Tokiah, and to
the Gabbaim for helping to make the Davening so
meaningful and special.
Thank you to the Balsam Family for Shehechiyanu
fruits and to the Goldman and Yellin Families for
sponsoring our Break Fast. I personally don't know
what I would do without the amazing cheesecake!
Lastly, I wish everyone a good Yom Tov and hope
everyone enjoys Succot together at the YIEB.
Sincerest regards,
Jeff Chustckie, President
I would like to thank everyone that comforted our
family both in East Brunswick and in Jerusalem.

Dear YIEB:
I am proud to announce that the new YIEB Sukkah
has been built and is ready for use. Everyone is
encouraged to use this Sukkah for their meals
during the Chag. Of course, everything is BYO
(bring your own). We plan to have some tables and
chairs set up. Please join us for a special Chanukat
Hassukah that will take place the second day of
Sukkot (Friday) at 5 PM!
It was the memory of my grandfather, Shlomo ben
Avraham Wolkoff that inspired this project. He
passed away during Succot, 5770. Although I miss
him, I am glad that we had many great times
together in our sukkah.
I thank the community for supporting my project.
Thank you Rabbi Weinstein, Jeff Chustckie, and
Howard Tune for your advice and encouragement. I
want to thank everyone who donated so
generously to this project. A list of names
acknowledging those who generously participated
follows this Thank You. If you plan to donate, you
still can. We have not yet reached our goal and we
will need additional money towards wires, lights,
and other items to make our sukkah functional
and special.
A lot of people came out and worked hard to
construct and decorate the sukkah. There are too
many to name. Thank you all. It was a huge project
and we could not have done it without you!
A very special thank you to Judy & Barry Silber and
Vera Schreck for their very generous donation.
Please see the dedication below.
I wish you all a Chag Sameach!!

DEAR YIEB FAMILIES,
An opportunity is before us; the opportunity to
spread the joy of Shabbat. The time is Parshat
Noach (October 24/25) and the place is right here
in East Brunswick.
Many of you have already heard about South
Africa’s tremendously successful 2013 Shabbos
Project. Thousands of Jews, from diverse
backgrounds, joined together to observe a single
Shabbat together. The Chief Rabbi who was
responsible for this beautiful concept was thrilled
to see the magic of Shabbos spread like wild fire.
Take a look:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhfe-MZcCjE
Now it’s our turn. The Shabbos Project is going
global and YIEB is in. There are a number of
events that are taking place (some sponsored by
YIEB and some sponsored by other organizations
and some "grassroots").
First, please save the date for a community wide
mother/daughter challah baking event on
Thursday evening 10/23 @ 7 Pm, location TBD. To
get involved with this, please email Tamar Green
Next I’m reaching out to you today to ask you to
invite a Jewish family (or two) who may not know
the beauty of Shabbat to join you at your Shabbat
table on October 24th. It’s as easy as that. And
after dinner, join the YIEB community at the home
of Seth & Frumi Cohen for an inspirational speaker
and Oneg, with our Scholar in Residence Rabbi
Yom Tov Glaser.
Help us spread the joy of Shabbat this Parshat
Noach, when Shabbat goes global! Please be in
touch with me via email ([email protected]) to
sign up. I look forward to hearing from you!
