DEAR YIEB FAMILIES,

An opportunity is before us; the opportunity to

spread the joy of Shabbat. The time is Parshat

Noach (October 24/25) and the place is right here

in East Brunswick.

Many of you have already heard about South

Africa’s tremendously successful 2013 Shabbos

Project. Thousands of Jews, from diverse

backgrounds, joined together to observe a single

Shabbat together. The Chief Rabbi who was

responsible for this beautiful concept was thrilled

to see the magic of Shabbos spread like wild fire.

Take a look:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhfe-MZcCjE

Now it’s our turn. The Shabbos Project is going

global and YIEB is in. There are a number of

events that are taking place (some sponsored by

YIEB and some sponsored by other organizations

and some "grassroots").

First, please save the date for a community wide

mother/daughter challah baking event on

Thursday evening 10/23 @ 7 Pm, location TBD. To

get involved with this, please email Tamar Green

at [email protected].

Next I’m reaching out to you today to ask you to

invite a Jewish family (or two) who may not know

the beauty of Shabbat to join you at your Shabbat

table on October 24th. It’s as easy as that. And

after dinner, join the YIEB community at the home

of Seth & Frumi Cohen for an inspirational speaker

and Oneg, with our Scholar in Residence Rabbi

Yom Tov Glaser.

Help us spread the joy of Shabbat this Parshat

Noach, when Shabbat goes global! Please be in

touch with me via email ([email protected]) to

sign up. I look forward to hearing from you!
