REQUEST FOR NAMES

As you may know, the KMS Trip to Poland will leave iy”h next month. Approximately 40 of us will visit sites across Poland that speak to the history, strength, and resilience of the Jewish people. We will stand and mourn in places of unspeakable tragedy and destruction contemplating the horrific loss that we endured as a people. Some participants will visit places where their families lived and where their families died. We feel that we are going as representatives of KMS and its members. We carry upon our shoulders the many neshamot of relatives who died and of those who survived. We will say Kel Maleh in many places we visit and would like to include names of those who perished in those locations. Submit names and locations here where any of your relatives perished in the Holocaust.

GAIL ROSENTHAL & LANCE KAPLAN Gail grew up in Montreal and earned a degree in recreology at the University of Ottawa. Lance grew up in Atlanta and completed his graduate studies in electrical engineering at the University of Southern California in 1994. Had they met while Lance was finishing school, they would have been bitter rivals as the Montreal Canadians prevailed over the Los Angeles Kings in the 1993 Stanley Cup Finals. Fortunately, they met five years later in Atlanta through Mosaic, a Jewish outing club. They fell in love, got married, moved to Kemp Mill in 2005 and brought home their beautiful daughter Ariana from Guatemala two years later. Lance is a researcher at the Army Research Laboratory and enjoys the short commute. Gail works as a recreation therapist. The Kaplan/Rosenthal family feels fortunate to be part of the wonderful KMS community. They now enjoy the Washington Capitals’ Stanley Cup Championship together as a happy family. Nevertheless as a proud Canadian, Gail still yearns for the Cup to return to Canada, and Lance would like to see Atlanta close out just one major sports championship over a full season during his lifetime.
