General Project Information
PROJECT LENGTH – Approximately 1.38 miles
SH 16 Proposed Improvements:
– Expand the existing road to four lanes with a continuous two way left turn
lane, raised median, bike accommodations, curbs, sidewalks, and
drainage improvements
– Intersection improvements at Old San Antonio Hwy East
– Reconstruct the bridge over Bandera Creek and the roadway approaches

CONSIDERATIONS
– No additional ROW needed
– Traffic Noise Analysis will be performed
– Historical and Archeological resources will be evaluated
– Portions of the proposed project are within a Federal Emergency
Management Agency (FEMA) designated 100-year floodplain
– Historical marker will be relocated
– Minimize impacts to Bandera Creek & Doe Creek

Environmental Statement
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by
applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been,
carried-out by TxDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of
Understanding dated December 16, 2014, and executed by FHWA and TxDOT.
La revisión ambiental, consultas y otras acciones requeridas por las leyes
ambientales federales aplicables para este proyecto están siendo o han sido,
llevado a cabo por TxDOT ‐ en virtud de 23 USC 327 y un Memorando de
