Some of the research fields in which the SGIkers have taken involved include: ENERGY - PHYSICS AND CHEMISTRY - CONSTRUCTION BIODIVERSITY AND EARTH SCIENCES COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY - SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY OF MATERIALS - BIOTECHNOLOGY - FOOD TECHNOLOGY ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGIES BIOMEDICINE - HEALTH AND WELL-BEING The General Research Services (SGIker) are an important driving force in the generation of scientific knowledge and technological development, which can help to transform the Basque Country in a knowledge-based society. One of the missions entrusted to the SGIkers is to foster technology transfer from the UPV/EHU as a knowledge source to companies and society in general. The General Research Services (SGIker) of the University of theBasque Country/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (UPV/EHU) are madeup of specialist laboratories and units, equipped with highly qualifiedtechnical staff and cutting-edge scientific-technological infrastructure.

The SGIker provides knowledge and services to the UPV/EHUresearcher community and other private or public centres, togetherwith the business community, in the framework of agreements andcontracts to provide specific services.

Analytic and High Resolution Microscopy in Biomedicine (Bizkaia)

The SGIker seeks to help promote, develop and disseminate multi-disciplinary technological and scientific research, in order to fosterthe advance of knowledge and the cultural, social and economicdevelopment of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country.They are also involved in training the research staff and in scientificdissemination.
