PROJECT DESCRIPTION
*Project Title: MP3 EXPERIMENT SINGAPORE 2014
*How will your project contribute to the SG50 Celebration Fund objectives? #
The MP3 Experiment is a participatory public event aimed
at lowering personal barricades and having fun. Through
this event our company is not simply promoting positivity
and nurturing identities in Singaporeans – we aim to bring
the wave of change to the culture of Singapore. From one
that has been seen as uptight, stressful and unfriendly, to
one where we know how to embrace spontaneous fun.
With the MP3 Experiment 2013, that mindset and precon-
ceived notion about Singaporeans being boring have been
denounced with great joy. Close to 1000 Singaporeans
come together and participate fervently without any
qualms or fear of embarrassment, and also witnessed
strangers telling strangers that they looked great today;
people forging new friendships; saying a simple ‘hi’ with a
beaming smile to the people around them that they did
not know previously; making each other laugh. For
2014, we aim for a bigger audience as we hold this year’s
MP3 Experiment in the very heart of Singapore – Orchard
Road . This year would be the year where an average Sin-
gaporean would be known as the friendly, spontaneous
and helpful individual they really are; and a year where
everyone will finally start to lighten up and decide that life
is too short to be living on the safe side. These are truly
exciting times and we know that Singapore will not let us
down.

*WHAT RELEVANT EXPERIENCE DOES YOUR TEAM HAVE IN CARRYING OUT THIS PROJECT?
MP3 Experiment 2014 is an event that is organised by The Hidden Good, a self-initiated move-
ment led by youths that aspires to celebrate the vibrant culture of optimism and caring within
Singapore. We aim to empower Singaporeans with the ability to stand up against negativity and
defend the good in Singapore. The core members of The Hidden Good not only organised last
year’s MP3 Experiment 2013, but is also a well-known name in the social media scene (Face-
book, youtube and twitter). The Hidden Good’s main avenues are The Hood Factory (a biweekly
youtube episodal awareness medium where we conduct and release hidden camera/guerrilla-
style videos to show case real life Singaporeans stepping up and their responses to a variety of
situations. Our most popular episode/video has received over 30 000 views) as well as Latte
Nights (a newly introduced forum and talk show to discuss controversial topics in our society).
We also have been invited to talk shows and schools, and have appeared on features such as
MyPaper, XinMinPaper, CNA bulletin, CNA Talking Point and LianHe ZaoBap features, just to
name a few. We have also enjoyed multiple collaborations with the New York Based Company
ImprovEverywhere, as well as local you-tubers such as WahBanana. To add on, we have initi-
ated a community of causes, namely - Project Hello Stranger, While You Were Sleeping, The
Morning Greeters, Project I.A.M, Queenstown Backyard and The Hidden Good.
In view of the roaring success and support that we have received from last year’s MP3 Experi-
ment 2013, with more than 1000 participants, we hope to make it even bigger and better this
year.
