1. IntroductionRicoh’s new A4 colour MFPs and printers are highly capabledesktop devices. The MFPs, which are equipped with documentfeeders and duplexes, are designed to be used as multipurposedocument hubs by SMBs and small workgroups. The printersare offered as lower cost alternatives for customers with printonly requirements.

The new models are well specified and easy to use. The MFPsfeature a 4.3” colour touchscreen operation panel that simplifiesuse of advanced imaging features, such as scan to email and IDcard copy. The colour touchscreen operation panel offers moreextensive functionality and is easier to use than the LCD controlpanels of older models. It also requires less steps to operatethan competitor models.

High quality 600 x 2400 dpi colour output is produced at a brisk20 pages per minute. The MFPs support printing, copying,scanning and fax, and are equipped, as standard, with either anADF or an SPDF. The SPDF (SP C261SFNw and SPC262SFNw) saves time by scanning both sides of documents ina single pass. In higher volume applications, the standard 250sheets paper supply can be extended to 750 sheets with theaddition of an optional second tray.

All models are wirelessly enabled and support mobile printingusing AirPrint, Mopria and Google Cloud Print applications. WithWiFi Direct, smart phones and tablets can be easily connectedusing Ricoh’s Smart Device Connector app. To connect, usersonly need to touch their Android device on the NFC tag or scanthe displayed QR code.

Price fighters:SP C260SFNw (MFP) and SP C260DNw (printer) are entry-levelmodels. The GDI engines allow price sensitive customers totake advantage of class-leading MFP/printer specifications atthe lowest possible price point.

Ricoh’s new colour desktop MFPs and printers are designed foruse by SMBs and small workgroups. The MFPs are documenthubs, capable of meeting all imaging needs, including colourprinting and copying, scanning to email, folder, FTP and USB,and sending and receiving fax messages.

The new models replace SP C250DN/SF and SP C252DN/SF.Building on the successful platform, they include wirelessconnectivity as standard and the MFPs feature a 4.3” colourtouchscreen panel. The colour panel offers more extensivefunctionality and is easier to use than LCD panels.

4. ConfigurationMainframe Hardware Configuration

The colour desktop MFPs support printing, copying, scanning and fax. They feature a 4.3” colour touchscreen panel and areequipped with a duplex, a document feeder and a 250 sheet paper tray. SP C260SFNw has an ADF and SP C262SFNw and SPC262SFNw have SPDFs. The colour desktop printers are equipped with a duplex and a 250 sheet paper tray. A 500 sheet secondtray is offered as an option for all models. SP C260SFNw/DNw are GDI printers. SP C261SFNw/DNw and SP C262SFNw/DNw arePCL/PS3 printers. 8. Service and SuppliesThe new MFPs and printers are user maintained. The onlyconsumables are print cartridges and a waste toner bottle.

SP C260SFNw/SP 260DNw and SP C261SFNw/SPC261DNw are designed for lower volumes applications anduse regular yield toner cartridges. Whilst relativelyinexpensive to replace, the use of lower yield cartridges doesincrease page costs.

SP C262SFNw/SP C262DNw are TCO models. They supportlarger document volumes (65,000 page duty cycle) and usehigh yield and ultra-high yield cartridges. The high yield and

ultra-high yield cartridges are more economical to buy thanregular yield cartridges and, with the initial hardware costsamortised over larger document volumes, SP C262SFNw andSP C262DNw offer the lowest total cost of ownership in theirclass. The savings are apparent at relatively low printvolumes.

The cartridges are not interchangeable between model types.
