OVERVIEW For the second year in a row, Little Kids Rock hosted its “Rockin The Bay” benefit at Facebook’s Menlo Park headquarters on November 9th in an effort to fund free modern music programs and instruments in Bay Area public schools.

This year, the benefit presented Metallica frontman James Hetfield with the inaugural “Livin the Dream” award in honor of Josef Desimone, the late Facebook executive chef and longtime supporter of LKR. Special guests in attendance included heavy metal guitarist Marcus Henderson, drummer Jeff Campitelli, Moonalice, and Bay Area band Coverflow.

As part of the benefit auction, James Hetfield signed a ESP Snakebite guitar, which sold for $14,000. The event raised more than $225,000 in funds.
