ACRYLIC PAINTINGBegin or renew a love affair with acrylic painting. Course covers using acrylic paint alone or combined with other media; preparing canvas; choosing and cleaning brushes; mixing paint; understanding color, value and composition; options for framing. Assignments include still life, self portrait, collage and acrylic painting, and canvas on canvas mosaic.

BEGINNING DRAWINGDon’t be afraid to try - drawing is a skill that anyone can learn. Basic techniques will teach you “how to see”. Topics covered include: line, shape, texture, shading, and more. PUPPY PLAYGROUPHelp socialize your puppy and get started on basic training in fun and positive ways. SMALL DOG PLAY AND LEARNBring your friendly small dog to come play and learn with others its size! Classes are designed for dogs 8 pounds to 20 pounds. All ages welcome. Dogs will play off leash in a secure area and practice good social skills through games and activities. Owners will socialize and learn right along with their dogs.

HORSEBACK RIDINGHorsemanship is both an art and a science. Madonna Bynum will introduce you to the skills needed to become a confident and safe rider and handler of horses. Join her to learn how to approach a horse confidently, groom, tack up, mount and dismount, seat and hand position and balance. This class is for riders of all levels. You will be riding in all 4 classes. TRAIN YOUR HORSE POSITIVELYAn introduction to horse training using positive training methods, commonly known as natural horsemanship and clicker training. This course will give an overview of how horses learn with different training methods and provide practical ways to apply these methods.

All basic obedience exercises are AKC oriented and geared for a great family dog, as well as competition.

DIGITAL PHOTO: SHOOT AND SHARELearn to use the functions of your digital camera to take good pictures, store photos oncomputer, and share through printouts, the internet, and e mail. Windows utilities will be used to transfer photos and a freeware photo album program will be used to view and print them. Pre requisite: PC Fundamentals I and II OR equivalent experience. This is a beginner course.

PC FUNDAMENTALS I FOR SENIORSLearn computer terminology, mouse functions, keyboard basics, the windows operating environment. This course is for absolute beginners with time to explore. Non-seniors may also take this class.

SMALL ARC WELDINGLearn the operation of small arc welding machines available at many popular home supply stores. You will perform welding exercises on carbon steel and will also perform cutting operations using an oxy acetylene torch.

HIKING EL CAMINO IN SPAINEl Camino de santiago is a 1,000 year old, 1,000 mile long pilgrim trail

in Europe. Through photos, stories, and hands on demonstrations of equipment, participants in this course will experience the rich history of the trail and the realities of hiking it. You will learn how to prepare and what to bring if you decide to hike the trail.

SAIL AND POWER BOATING COURSELearn and improve your knowledge of boating skills. Find out how the rules of the road work,what all of the aids to navigation mean, understand docking principles, anchoring, state regulations, reading a chart, and many other nautical topics. Seniors - 60+ ClubCommunity Education classes only. Seniors 60 years and older may have their registration fees waived for their classes if: 1) they register the first night the class is held - students who register before the class begins or register online will pay full price for the course; no refunds, no exceptions; 2) space is available in the class, and 3) the class has met the required minimum seats filled. General Information

Onsite RegistrationCall 352-395-5193 the day before, or day of 1st class to see if space is available. Classes without sufficient enrollment will be cancelled.

You may drop a class and receive a full refund by calling the Community Education office DURING THE FIRST TWO WEEKS OF THE COMMUNITY EDUCATION TERM for any class 2 weeks or longer in length. For classes shorter than two weeks in length, regardless of the week of the term, you must drop the class at least 2 business days before the class begins to receive a refund.

After the first two weeks of the Community Education term, and once a course is in progress, you must fill out a petition for refund. Refunds are not automatic, and a legitimate reason must be stated. After the FIRST THREE WEEKS OF THE COMMUNITY EDUCATION TERM, only partial refunds will be granted upon approval. Full refunds will NOT be granted except in special cases.

Outdoor adventure classes require additional lead drop time. You may drop an outdoor class/trip, but you must petition for a refund. The petition will go before a review committee, and if approved, you will receive a partial refund.*

NO PETITIONS WILL BE RECEIVED OR REFUNDS PROCESSED once the last day of the term has passed. Call 352-395-5193, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., if you wish to drop within the appropriate drop time. You will need to provide the following student information: student ID, name, address, telephone number, and course number(s) of class(es) you wish to drop.

You will receive a refund check in the mail in approximately 4 - 6 weeks. Your credit card account will NOT be credited for the amount.

NOTE: Online classes have varying drop dates for refunds. Check online courses for details.
