Social Enterprise World Forum (SEWF2012)Fórum Mundial de Negócios Sociais


The Social Enterprise World Forum(SEWF) is the premiere global event focused exclusively on social enterprise.

The innaugural SEWF was held in Scotland, in September 2008. The annual event has since traveled to Austra-lia, South Africa and the United States. The SEWF2012 was the first such global and national event focused on social enter-prise to be convened in Brazil.

O Fórum Mundial de Negócios Sociais é o principal evento internacional com foco exclusivo em negócios sociais.

O SEWF inaugural foi realizado na Escó-cia, em setembro de 2008. O evento anual, desde então, viajou para a Austrália, Áfri-ca do Sul e Estados Unidos. O SEWF2012 foi o primeiro evento global e nacional fo-cado em negócios sociais a ser convocado no Brasil.


Social enterprises are businesses designed to further a social purpose in a financially sustainable way.

The overall theme of SEWF2012 was the growing field of impact investing and focuses on attracting new investment capital for social enterprise.

SEWF2012 included a pre-Forum Inves-tor Day to introduce private and public investors to the concepts and opportuni-ties of impact investing, a keynote address from impact investing pioneer and author, Anthony Bugg-Levine, and a track on Fi-nance & Investment exploring global ef-forts to develop a social capital market to support social enterprises.

A temática chave do SEWF2012 é o cres-cente campo de investimentos de impac-to e com foco na atração de novos inves-timentos de capital para negócios sociais.

O SEWF2012 incluiu o pré-Fórum Dia do Investidor para introduzir investidores privados e públicos aos conceitos e opor-tunidades de investimentos de impacto, a palestra do autor e pioneiro em investi-mentos de impacto, Anthony Bugg-Levine e a sala temática paralela Financiamento e Investimento explorando esforços globaispara desenvolver o mercado de capital so-cial para apoiar negócios sociais.

Recycling | Reciclagem Social enterprise Doe Seu Lixo provided recycling services for SEWF2012 and collected 455.3 kg of paper, plastic, PET and metal from the venue. 100% of materials used to construct the venue were deconstructed for reuse. The registration area was constructed from recycled wood pallets. | 100% dos ma-teriais utilizados na construção do local foram desconstruídos para reutilização. Furniture | Mobiliário The cafe, lounge and marketplace furniture donated by Grupo Orsa were made from re-cycled corrogated cardboard and donated to local area nonprofts. | O mobiliário das áreas do café, lounge e feira de negócios sociais, doado pelo Grupo Orsa, foi confeccionado com papelão fortificado reciclado e após o evento doado para ONGs da região local.

Delegate Packets| Materiais dos DelegadosNametags and bags were pro-duced by social enterprise Rede Asta. The nametags were made from recycled paper with seeds for planting after the event; notebooks was printed on recy-cled paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
