SEVERN SOUND ENVIRONMENTAL ASSOCIATION STAFF REPORT
07-17
TO: SSEA Board of Directors FROM: Julie Cayley, General Manager
DATE: July 6, 2017
SUBJECT: SSEA - A “Refreshed” Strategic Plan - Status update BACKGROUND/ANALYSIS: At the March 2017 Board meeting, SSEA board directed staff to “… to develop a renewed Strategic Plan with the SSEA Board Executive Committee.” The SSEA has been fortunate to be approved for a grant of $5,000 from the County of Simcoe capacity building to support the renewal of the strategic plan. At the direction of the SSEA Board executive (meeting May 31, 2017) a contract for $3,000 has been signed with Karen Wianecki (Planning Solutions Inc. (PSI)) to support staff in the analysis and consultation in renewing the strategic plan. The background for this work has started and a date needs to be chosen for a Board/Staff workshop (Potential dates include August 24, 25, Sept. 5, 6, 12, 14, 15). A reminder that money has not been included for this process in the SSEA 2017 budget. This process is being lead “in house” by the SSEA GM supported by staff and the SSEA Board and the small contract with PSI. SUMMARY/RECOMENDATIONS: It is RECOMMENDED THAT Staff Report No. 07-17 regarding the SSEA - A “Refreshed” Strategic Plan - Status update be received for information.
