Dear Parishioners, As stated in last week’s bulletin, we at St. Alexanders are continuing to prepare for the reopening of our parish school which will include many changes on how we safely educate our children. One of these changes will be how our children will safely enter the building, which will include body tempera-ture checks, hand sanitizing, and safe social distancing. To ensure the safety of all students, staff, and parishioners the morning drop-off and dismissal pick-up times will probably take longer than in the past and will require new procedures. In order for this process to be smooth and safe, effective Monday, August 3rd our weekday Mass, Monday through Friday, will be at 8:30 . Hopefully this fifteen minute change will not be an inconvenience to those who attend the daily Mass. Once again, this is to ensure the safety of all involved. Please remember to spread the word to others that we are open for weekday and Sunday liturgies and one must register online for weekend liturgies starting Thursday at 10:00am and concluding at 12:00 noon on Saturday. Thus far the great efforts of our volunteers our process our liturgies have run smoothly. Registering on line is vital in making the process of entering our church to be quick and safe. Also, it is of great help to the volunteers who have given many hours of service so that we can cele-brate weekday and Sunday Masses, Saturday confessions, funerals, baptisms, and weddings. If you’d like to volunteer please call the office or speak with one of our volunteers. The more volunteers we have we will be able to continue our current schedule, possibly add to our schedule, and will prevent us from overworking our present volunteers. In order to accommodate more people at our Masses, we are now increasing the amount of people to 85 per Mass. If possible, reach out to those who do not have computers and offer to register them for our liturgies. Other than that my friends, believe it or not, I have nothing else to write about. In the meantime, let us continue to pray for one another and pray for an end to the pandemic. Let us all remember that in our own way we can continue to bring the love of Christ in these times of trial. Finally, thank you again for your support both spiritually and financially as we at St. Alexander Parish continue to be a strong vibrant Catholic community. God Bless, Father Marty

SCRIPTURE REFLECTION

Today concludes a three-week series of Gospel texts in which we have listened to a total of seven para-bles about the Kingdom. The believer is asked to consider the request that God made of Solomon in today’s first reading: “Ask something of me and I will give it to you” (1 Kings 3:5). Today’s parables about the treasure buried in the field and the pearl of great price should prompt us to answer, “A share in your kingdom, O God!” Today we discover that the kingdom of God is beyond value, a priceless treas-ure. Unfortunately, our culture bombards us with things that it believes are priceless treasures—the bigger and better SUVs, anti-aging and anti-balding creams and salves, miracle diets, and so much more. Having a share in God’s kingdom and helping to bring about that kingdom are the greatest treasures that we can ever hope to gain.

Religious Education at St. Alexander Parish is a religious formation program for children dedicated to inspiring a thorough knowledge of God and the wit-ness of Christian love. We desire to build an understanding of beliefs of the Roman Catholic faith and encourage our children to carry those beliefs out into the world. St. Alexander supports parents as the primary educators of their children by words and example. Our Religious Education program seeks to nurture and

teach our families to live the Catholic faith through a commitment to Catholic traditions and val-ues. Our program also fosters and empowers our students to attain their highest spiritual and creative potential – inspiring all to become informed, caring, and contributing members in the world. Through the cooperative efforts of parents and catechists, our children strive to grow in their love for God and knowledge of their Catholic faith.

THE RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM IS NOW ACCEPTING REGISTRATIONS FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR

GENERAL GUIDLINES • All families must be registered parishioners of St. Alexander. • All students must have a copy of their Baptismal Certificate on file in the REP office. • Those receiving their Sacraments must have completed at least two consecutive years

of Religious Education immediately prior to making their Sacrament. CLASS TIMES

• Monday classes meet grades 1st thru 8th from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. • Tuesday grades 1st thru 8th attend from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Tuition for the 2020-2021 school year is as follows: • One child $275.00 • Two children $375.00 • Three or more children $475.00

There is a $25.00 book and material fee for each child. Sacramental Fees are First Holy Communion $40.00 and Confirmation $60.00. The fee co-vers the cost of special books and materials and the Confirmation Retreat.
