You know how the typical summer goes for your children, a week of “school’s over!” exhilaration followed by two months of searching for activities to fill the days.
Well, the Seven Hills School Summer Program is anything but typical. And it can transform your child’s summer from uninspiring to unforgettable.
For starters, the Seven Hills Summer Program shares many of the same aspects as our school – it’s hands-on, adventurous, energetic, creative, and offers a full spectrum of activities, from 3-D computer modeling and physical science to a Mammoth Cave camping trip and interior design.
We invite children of all ages – from three to eighteen – onto our campus over the course of the summer to pursue their interests and discover new ones. Our small groups and seasoned staff – many of whom teach full-time at Seven Hills – provide individual attention and support to your child as she explores, climbs, constructs, and learns her way through summer.
You can sign up for one week or sign up for all nine. Either way, you can be sure that summer isn’t the same at Seven Hills.

1. Is the Seven Hills Summer Program available to Seven Hill’s students only?No, all children from the entire Greater Cincinnati area are invited to attend.
2. May I choose to attend only the weeks that fit into our schedule?Yes, all programs are offered on a week-by-week basis and additionally, children have the option to register either for a full-day or half-day program. Weekly sessions begin on Monday, June 18th and continue through Friday, August 10th.
3. Do you offer extended hours?Yes, in addition to the standard day 9:00 AM–3:30 PM, there is an Early Bird option from 7:30–9:00 AM and After Care from 3:30–6:00 PM.
4. What age does my child need to be to attend?The Seven Hills Summer Program serves children from 3 years of age up to 18.
5. What type of programs do you offer?Seven Hills offers a wide range of enrichment programs including academics, fine arts, adventure field trips, sports, and technology. All programs are led by Seven Hill’s faculty or professionals from our community. The Early Childhood programs are based on weekly themes designed to spark imagination and natural curiosities through hands-on learning experiences. Join us for an out of this world adventure as campers travel to the moon and back! Our Honeybee campers will transform into astronauts as they learn about planets, stars, and space. Prepare for blast off in this fun-filled week of stories, projects, and dramatic play!Morning Program: $175Full Day: $300
Motor MagicJune 25–29
This week will provide a variety of activities with the purpose of improving fine-motor, gross motor, and visual motor skills. Students will refine their skills by cutting, writing, and tracing along with simple art and clay projects. In addition a portion of each day will include fundamental movement activities to work on locomotion, balance, and ball skills.Morning Program: $175 Full Day: $300
The PretendersJuly 2–6 (no camp Wednesday, July 4)
Have you ever been to the land of make believe? Campers will use their imagination as they travel to the land of make believe during a week full of creativity and storytelling, reinforcing campers’ creative thinking, social development, and language skills.Morning Program: $140 Full Day: $240
Honeybees ages 3-4
The Honeybee programs are designed with the youngest campers in mind. The weekly special interest programs provide the framework for relaxing, fun filled activities that support children’s social, emotional, and academic growth. With low student-teacher ratios, engaging themes, projects, and a mid-

morning snack, each day offers unlimited opportunities for learning and fun! Julie Brackett and Jen Gutzwiller will teach the Honeybee morning programs.
The morning themes extend into the afternoon as campers build upon the morning projects and enjoy outdoor water play, a mid-afternoon snack, and rest-time. Lunch may be brought from home or purchased for $25 a week.
Creatures of the SeaJuly 9–13
Come dive into the ocean with us as we discover some of the amazing and bizarre creatures found deep in the sea. The campers will create ocean-themed projects and learn many new facts about ocean life. It’s sure to be an adventure in the deep blue sea!Morning Program: $175Full Day: $300

Animal lovers rejoice! Come join us this week to investigate an array of animals. Mammals, reptiles, and amphibians alike, we will compare and contrast different animals and explore how they help the Earth. Awesome AuthorsJune 25–29
Come read with us! Reading is one activity that is enjoyed by all ages. What better way to get your child excited about reading than to explore books written by some of their favorite authors? Children will love reading stories by Laura Numeroff, Eric Carle, Leo Lionni, Dr. Seuss, and Jan Brett. Stories will come alive as students immerse themselves in books, create projects, and engage in story retell.Morning Program: $175 Full Day: $300

Come aboard and travel the world with us as we explore different countries and cultures. Children will learn about other nations and discover how children in other countries live. Students will get an in-depth look at other ways of life as they learn new games, try on different clothes, and taste international foods. Fun with PhonicsJuly 9–13
Keep your Stingerbee’s skills sharp over the summer with fun phonics activities centered on reinforcing and developing new skills. Students will be guided through enriching small group activities as well as one-on-one instruction. Daily learning will include visual, kinesthetic and auditory games and lessons.Morning Program: $175Full Day: $300
Stingerbees ages 5-6
Campers’ imaginations and natural curiosities will be sparked by enrichment activities based upon the weekly themes offered throughout summer. Campers will participate in a variety of fun, hands-on learning experiences in a relaxed, summer time atmosphere. Stingerbee campers will also have time to enjoy a mid-morning snack and recess with their friends. Lindsay Pietroski and Amy Kulhavik will lead the Stingerbee morning programs.

Create Your Summer ages 7-12 and middle & upper school
With our “Create Your Summer” format children may select specific enrichment programs to pursue their interests or discover new ones. Our age appropriate group offerings share many of the same aspects as our school – it’s hands-on, adventurous, energetic, creative, and offers a full spectrum of activities throughout the summer. Our small groups and seasoned staff provide individual attention and support to your child. The flexible scheduling is designed to meet a variety of needs along with our extended hours and lunch options. Please review the table on pages 2 & 3, which provides an overview of all programs and more specific information is available in the program descriptions.
3-D Sculpture June 18–22 | 9am–12pm | ages 7-12
Instructor: Mimi StrickerWelcome to the world of 3-D. Sculpture is the chance to see your artwork from more than one angle. We will be exploring the many techniques and mediums of this traditional art form.fee: $175
3-D Game Creation–Character ModelingJuly 9–13 | 12:30–3:30pm | middle & upper
Instructor: Jason KnarrLearn to create a low-poly model for use in a 3-D game. We will cover how to use Blender to produce a unique character specially suited to add to a 3-D gaming environment. We also learn to texture the model and then rig it with a bones system. These characters can be used in Game Creation Camp, Part II.fee: $175

3-D Game Creation, Part IIJuly 16–20 | 12:30–3:30pm | middle & upper
Instructor: Jason KnarrHave a budding architect? Want to learn to sculpt but don’t have the room for a welder or a kiln? Want to know how they create those fantastic worlds in Halo and Mario Galaxy? This class is for you. An introduction to the world of 3-D computer graphics, this class will explore how to begin creating on the x, y, and z-axes. Students will learn to use Sketchup, Cinema 4-D and Mudbox to create virtual sculptures, crazy characters, and amazing animations in the virtual world of 3-D graphics. fee: $175
3-D Computer ModelingJuly 2–6 (no camp July 4) | 9am–12pm | ages 7-12
Instructor: Jason KnarrDiscover the world of virtual space in this fun tech camp. Using Google Sketchup, campers will learn how to build sculptures, buildings, or even whole cities on the computer! Emphasis will be placed on creativity while technical aspects of textures, animation, lighting and color will be addressed according to the camper’s ability.fee: $140

Acting Adventures July 16–20 | 9am–12pm | ages 7-12
Instructor: Russell WhiteGet ready for The A.C.T.ing Adventure in the Red Barn. From the first day, students in this acting camp will jump into drama fun by becoming part of the “Acting Creation Team” or A.C.T. Together with new and old friends, these Acting Creation Team players or A.C.T.ors will play theatre games, create improvisations, and invent original scenes. With imaginations in gear, the A.C.T.ors will also explore acting fundamentals, including teamwork,
concentration, character development and creative expression through movement and sound. Finally, the Acting Creation Team players will create a sharing performance which they’ll present for family and friends on the final day of camp. A.C.T. now and let the fun begin!fee: $175

Instructor: Russell WhiteEnter a space where creativity and the joy of acting are celebrated. Imagine working with your peers in an acting workshop every day for four days. Welcome to the Acting Lab where students with all levels of acting experience are invited. Greet each day’s Acting Lab challenges as we explore the power of theatre and acting together through improvisational games, scene and character creation workshops, and other exciting activities that engage our bodies, voices, brains, feelings and senses. You’ll connect with new and old friends while stretching the limits of your imagination and exploring the wonder of creation. Alex Meacham Basketball CampJune 25–29 | 9am–12pm | ages 7-12
Coach: Alex MeachamFormer UC player and coach Alex Meacham will lead this camp with a focus on learning and improving fundamental skills, sportsmanship, and teamwork. It is important to have each child gain a better understanding of the game as well as working on ball handling, footwork, defense, shooting, and passing.fee: $175
Animation CreationJuly 9–13 | 12:30-3:30pm | ages 7-12
Instructor: Matt ShifleyStudents bring the wildest figments of their imagination to life through the art of animation. Students will learn drawing skills to create their own cartoon characters and then study the optical illusion of animation through the construction of flip books. Students will collaborate and use computers to produce their own original animated short.fee: $175
Architectural AdventuresJune 25–29 | 12:30-3:30pm | ages 7-12
Instructor: Matt ShifleyStudents will design and create houses, bridges, skyscrapers, even a whole city while looking at architecture from Cincinnati and around the world for inspiration. Students will explore various challenges that architects face. We will start by learning the basics of blueprint drafting and build from there to create three-dimensional models of our own design.fee: $175

Chinese StudiesJuly 16–20 | 12:30–3:30pm | ages 7-12
Instructor: Meng-Wei TsaiThis Summer Mandarin Program will teach students how to speak the Mandarin Chinese language as well as learn fun activities of Chinese culture. The language lessons will instruct students how to speak conversational Chinese with basic vocabulary and will progress through activities such as eating with chopsticks, writing Chinese calligraphy, and playing Chinese chess games. Students will also learn the traditions of and reasons why Chinese celebrate holidays such as the Lunar New Year, Ghost Month, the Moon Festival and others. The class will be taught by Meng-wei Tsai (蔡老师), a native of Taiwan who has lived in the US for the past six years. fee: $175

Students entering grades 6–9 are invited to participate in a rewarding week of working together on a variety of community service projects around the city. You will learn about non-profit agencies and how they serve our community. No experience necessary!fee: $175

Instructor: Linda BehenDo you love creating things on a computer? Does making videos and making your very own magazine sound like fun? Join us for Computer Magic and learn how to use the best online tools for fun and education. Instructor: Matt ShifleyHere is your chance to let your imagination go wild. Students will learn new drawing and sculpting techniques to create their own zany creatures. We will use a variety of materials to create monsters of all shapes and sizes. Students will make their own creatures to take home as well as collaborate with others to make one giant monster.fee: $175

Instructor: WEBBY Dance CompanyWEBBY Dance Company is offering an action-packed Hip Hop/Jazz camp! Come dance to the hits of Bella Thorne, Selena Gomez, Taio Cruz and many, many others!
