How to Set Up Your Wordpress.org Website

Using Free Web Hosting

Sign up for the free webhosting plan on this link:

Choose the free web hosting

Fill out the details neededIf you do not have a domain name yet, choose – I will choose your free subdomain

Enter the domain name you want

Create your account

It will then create your account and take you to this page

Click on go to cpanel

This is the cpanel

Scroll down and under database, click on my sql

Put in your database, username and password for my sql

Click on create database

Your my sql database should appear here

Click on go back to go back to the cpanel

Now you need to download the wordpress files

Go to wordpress.org

Here is the wordpress.org website

Click on download wordpressRight now, version 4.4.1 is the newest update

Choose where you want to save your download

Look for your wordpress zip file and unzip it

Just right click on the file and choose extract or unzip

Here is our extracted wordpress file now

Now you will need filezilla to upload your wordpress files to your free web hosting

Go to: https://filezilla-project.org/

This is the filezilla website

Click on download filezilla client

After the download is done,Install filezilla on your pc

Here is what filezilla looks like when you open it

Go back to your cpanelAnd under files, choose ftp details

The details here are what you will put on filezilla

Go back to filezilla

Put in your ftp details here on filezillaLeave the port blank

Click on quick connect

It should say connected if you put in all the information correctly

Here is what filezilla would look likeThe files on the left are your filesThe files on the right are on your hosting

Double click the public_html folder on your hosting filesThat should open the folder

This is what it will look like when you have opened the public_html folder

Delete the sample php file

It’s now deleted here

To upload your wordpress files, you just need to drag the wordpress folder inside the public_html folder

This is what it will look like after dragging the file

Wait for the queued files to go to zeroThat means it’s finished uploading

The files are many so you might have to wait a little bit for the upload to finish

Yay! It’s done!

Now go to your domain name

In my case it’s - senseiglenn.comxa.com

It should look like this

Now click on wordpress

You’ll see thisClick on wordpress againDon’t worry you’re almost done

You’ll see this. yay!Choose your language

It’ll take you hereClick on let’s go!Exciting right?

You’ll now see this page

Go back to your cpanelAnd click on my sql again

These are the details you need to put on wordpress

Put in the detailsAnd click on submit

It will take you to this pageClick on run the install to install wordpress

Put in the info for your blogAnd click on install wordpress

Success! Yay!Click on log in

Log in to wordpress now!
