• Anse Forbans is a small close knitted community heavily reliant on their environment for their livelihoods

• June 2016 a community meeting was called- Phenomenal response

• NGO registered AFCCP partnering with MCSS for scientific expertise, local board and support from MOE

• Hosts volunteers from around the world to help in their studies

• Community identified the needs for the Community Programme

Who are we?

• Reef Restoration- Essential for its survival – global warming, human destruction, plastic pollution, anchorage

• Coral sea nursery – on land and sea nursery again educational and tourists + Environmental studies

• Seagrass study of the area

• Snorkeling trails- educational and tourists

• Home to critically endangered yellow bellied and black mud terrapins

• Invasive species clearing

• Climate smart wetlands rehabilitation and Ago-ecology concept

• Flooding issues

• Studies conducted

• Medicinal plants, endemic plants

• Historical monument protection/education

• A small group of community members in the Seychelles have come together to make a difference.

• We want to preserve our environment for future generations and ensure livelihoods for our small community.
