There will be instruction from our experienced faculty and you will work in our state of the art ceramic studios. Three hours, evening or Saturdays. Our happy hour package is available upon request. CERAMICSAdvanced Vessels: It’s All in the Details C9.4cCHRIS PICKETT Artist-in-Residence Level: 2-3The smallest details often make or break the quality of a pot. This class will address some of the more challenging details of the vessel such as the handles, lids, feet, spouts, altered forms, and glazing techniques. Bring your tools and an open mind and we’ll have some fun!

PAINTINGLearn To Observe P4.3bMARTHA MYERS Level: AllThis course will improve your observation skills. The first two weeks are devoted to realism, taking photographs at the Mounts Botanical Gardens. Then in the studio students will draw from their photographs and begin to focus on minimizing the botanicals to geometric shapes and abstract patterns. The fourth step is to paint their designs in any medium they wish.

DIGITAL AND SOCIAL MEDIAPortfolio Website & Blog RA10.6aMOLLY AUBRY Level: AllThis course is designed for artists with an existing portfolio of work who are ready to have a strong web presence. Students have the option of using attractive, affordable templates to create a website and/or blog. Bring high quality images of your work, and we will adjust and prepare them for the web using Photoshop. You will then learn to build and update your own portfolio website. No coding required. Marketing For Creative Professionals: How to Brand Yourself and Your Art RA3.2cJENIFER MANGIONE Level: AllThis is a practical, hands-on marketing class for anyone who would like to learn how to market their talent - whether it’s in the visual arts, performing arts, writing or music. Over the 8 week period, we’ll explore every aspect of the “integrated” marketing mix, including the fundamentals of branding, public relations, social media, website devel-opment, advertising, special events, online marketing and more. The class will benefit those with no marketing experience, as well as those who have marketing knowledge, but want to better understand how to leverage that knowledge to reach broader audi-ences because at the end of the course, participants will have developed an annual strategic marketing plan with clear deadlines, budgets, and deliverables. Participants are welcome to bring laptops, or smartpad devices, but this is not a class requirement.

GLASSIntroduction to Fusible Mosaics G7.1bHOLLY ODESS Levels: AllThis fun, four-week course will give you a solid foundation for classical mosaic techniques taught by a master mosaicist. The use of specialized cutting tools, cold working equipment, and the firing process will be explained as your masterpiece develops! You may bring your own pattern ideas or use those from the instructor. You will experience an exciting new way to work with fusible glass. Maximum 6 students. Glass is sold at our registration desk.

The Art of Wind Chimes G8.1cAIMEE SCHULTZ Level: 2Create gorgeous, fused glass wind chimes to decorate your home or hang in a pro-tected area outside. This class teaches how to plan the design of the chimes, different methods of attaching hooks to the main glass piece, proper methods of balancing the piece, color pairing, incorporating the metal attachments into the design of the piece, and different ways to use frit, metal, and wires in the design. The piece will be finished by beading wire and attaching the chimes to the main piece. Intermediate knowledge of glass cutting and cold working equipment is recommended.

JEWELRYIntroduction to Wax Carving and Casting J7.1aGUSTAVO HOEFS Level: 1-2Improve your carving skills by creating wax models of rings and pendants. By sculpting your designs using different types of wax, the lost wax burnout method, and vacuum casting, everyone will walk away with a one of a kind sterling silver ring and/or pen-dant. Material list will be provided upon registration. Required: closed leather shoes and 100% cotton clothing.

Fun with Bead Weaving PAMELA TREVISAN Level: AllCreate your own lariat rope jewelry using various beading techniques. During this fun beading course we will explore off-loom weaving: the tubular peyote stitch, St. Petersburg stitch, Russian spiral, Herringbone, spiral rope, and right angle weaves. Beading materials will be available during class. Additional beads can be purchased. Participants should have some needlework experience. SCULPTUREIntroduction to Organic Forms in Metal S12.1cSARAH KNOUSE Level: AllAn exploration of “cold-working” metal construction techniques. Students will make sophisticated, nature-inspired forms using sheet metal with a focus on developing skills in 3D fabrication techniques from conception to execution. Students will use pop rivet guns, drills, aviation shears, and other hand-held tools to translate their organic inspiration into a finished aluminum sculpture. We will explore techniques for design-ing, cutting, texturing, fabricating, and staining refined metal volumes.
