Testing & Inspection

Installation• Our engineers are fully trained and can provide a

wealth of experience in installation methods and the design criteria which are needed in the installation of a job.

• Each system is designed independently so requires its own solutions. This could be from the colours of tapes for aesthetic purposes right down to the type of fixing used.

• The material utilised for the installations is specific to lightning protection therefore enables us to interface with existing systems which may require upgrading or expansion.

• Specialised earthing is another factor to National, from earth farms for generators or fuel tanks through to surge protection and independent earthing for switchboards and comms equipment.

Rope Access There are many benefits to using rope access in

the installation of lightning protection systems:

• It allows rapid set up and dismantle each day• Prevents the need for scaffold or cherry pickers• Enables systems to be installed in places non

accessible by common means• Reduces disruption in and around the area of

work• Provides a fast and effective way of installation

without causing any damage to the fabric of the building (which can be crucial on historical building)

Surge Protection• Every surge protective device or equipment is

basedon the principle to maintain insulation up to a maximum admissible voltage level. Once this level is exceeded, the surge voltage is short-circuited, in other words, the excessively high potential difference between two conductive parts of a device or an equipment is limited to admissible values.

• The switch systems used for this operation are called surge arresters or surge protective devices.
