Recruiting Service Design teams

The Otaniemi library at Aalto University will undergo a full renovation in order to cater for the demands of a modern learning centre. Design Consultancy Kuudes Kerros invites 6-8 students to joint the service design team in perfecting the service concept for the new centre.

The work will be done in three teams of four people, lead by a service design professional from Kuudes Kerros. The project will begin with brainstorming the service concept and then building and testing it together with the coaches. The teams will consist of representatives of the learning centre’s target groups. All members will be potential users of the library or producers of services in the learning centre. The work done in the service design teams enables an active role in designing and developing the new Aalto University campus area. This will also give students and staff a unique opportunity to learn about service design in practice.

The project will last from September 16th to mid-December 2013, taking up approximately 10-12 active days during that period. The work will include workshop days, target group interviews and user interviews for testing the concepts. All work will be done under the guidance of service design professionals.
