Sermon ExtractsSunday morning, August 1st, Mr.
Fillmore gave for meditation, “ There is One Presence and One Power in the Universe, the Good Omnipotent.”
He said in connection with this thought, “ There is an all-potential Source for everything you need. It is right here and everywhere at all times, and you can draw upon it for everything you wish. ‘ Whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name he will give it you.'’
‘fYou lay hold of this All-Provident One with ,your mind, your Spirit. God is Spirit. When you ask of this Father he will not give you a stone, but bread, the real substance of existence. Your real, lasting and only good will be found in this Divine Mind. It withholds nothing from you but is ever ready to pour forth upon you the riches of the kingdom. Jesus taught this in many parables. Paul said, ‘ He that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that seek him.’ W e cannot help believing in an Omnipresent Intelligence, because we see the evidence of it on every hand. Then let us now lay hold of it and believe that it is a power in our minds,' our bodies and our affairs.”
Mrs. Jennie H. Croft will leave Sunday evening for a short vacation in Illinois.

The membership of the Unity Society is now increasing faster than ever before in its history.
The new book of lessons by Mr. Charles Fillmore is selling much faster than was anticipated.
Mrs. Wm. Whitworth and daughter, Gladys, are visiting friends and relatives in Topeka, Kansas, this week.
Mrs. Walter Davis and her little daughter, Hazel, are enjoying an outing in the mountains. They will be in Mani- tou for several weeks.
Last Sunday afternoon the Committee received word to the effect that Dr. Os- bron would not be able to speak Sunday, August 8ih. We regret very much that Dr. Osbron cannot be with us but trust he will address us at a future time.
In Unity there is strength. By combining your thought with another you increase it ten times. “One shall chase a thousand and two shall put ten thousand to flight.” Join the Unity Society and enter into its spirit by helping others through the co-operated thought. If you believe in this truth you are needed as an active member of this Society.

More HappinessLast Monday Mr, Cecil H. Gates, Jr.,
and Miss Vera Hains joined hands and were married at the home of the bride in Mt. Washington. Chas Fillmore tied the knot. Mr. Gates is well known to the Unity People and will be remembered first as coming to Sunday School when a boy in short trousers. His father is now Vice-President of the Unity Society.
The bride has been a more or less regular attendant at the Sunday morning service for six months past. The writer is sure that he voices the sentiments of all the Unity people in wishing this young couple a long, happy and prosperous career.
The PlatesWe still have in mind our ideal of $20
a Sunday for incidentals. The envelope collection for July 25th was $6.66. The Speaker’s collection was something over six dollars. August first the envelopes contained #5.80 and the Speaker’s collection was $9.68.

WEEKLY UNITY
RESPONSIVE SERVICE.
Sunday, August 8Thess. 5:12-23.
12 But we beseech you, brethren, to know them that labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
13 And to esteem them exceeding highly in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
14 And we exhort you, brethren, ad- mtonish the disorderly, encourage the faint hearted, support the weak, be long- suffering toward all.
15 See that none render unto anyone evil for e v il; but always follow after that which is good, one toward another, and toward all.
16 Rejoice alway;17 Pray without ceasing;18 In everything give thanks : for
this is the will of God in Christ Jesus to you-ward.
19 Quench not the Spirit;20 Despise not prophesyings;21 Prove all things ; hold fast that
which is good ;22 Abstain from every form of evil.23 And the God of peace himself
sanctify you wholly : and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved entire, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Be CheerfulAlways be cheerful, because it pro
motes the health by exhilarating the physical functions, by stimulating the process of respiration, by oxygenizing the blood, by improving nutrition, and by
causing the mind to feel confident of success. Charge your mind with feelings of happiness, success, joy and cheer. Remember that the pathway of the soul is not a steady ascent, but a hilly and broken one; and do not become pessimistic, for the pessimist poisons his very blood and darkens the horizon of the sun of joy.—Ex.
A PicnicUnity Guild had a picnic last Saturday
evening. The girls brought heavy baskets, boxes and various cooking utensils. The boys brought watermelons and appetites. The evening was ideal for a picnic and Budd Park seemed to be only too glad to help these young people enjoy themselves. After a delightful lunch the evening was spent in song and games. Watermelon was served from 9:30 till 11.

UNITY CORRESPONDENCE SCHOOL

Every DayMake every day of your life count for
something; make it tell in the grand results, not merety as an added day, but as an added day with something achieved. —Ex.
The August number of The Shepherd is out, and it is filled with words of Truth. Brother Jenkins, the editor, is a fearless apostle of the Christ and his writings carry conviction. Sample cop ies of The Shepherd can be had by addressingH. D. Jenkins, 728 Main St., Kansas City, Mo.
On every side the doctors are warning people to be careful that the milk is sterilized and the meat untainted. Why not wholly eliminate animal products from the diet and live on herbs and fruits, as God designed? Vegetarian meals are served three times a day at the Unity Inn, in rear of Unity Building.
Have you seen the August number of W e e W i s d o m ? It is called the “ Birthday Number,” and has many special features in commemoration of the fifteenth year of its publication. Every family should have W e e W is d o m — only 59 cents per year.
LaughterLaughter is undoubtedly one of Na
ture’s greatest tonics. It brings the disordered faculties and functions into harmony ; it lubricates the mental bearings and prevents the friction which monotonous, exacting business engenders. It is a divine gift bestowed upon us as a life-preserver, a health-promoter, a joy- generator, a success-maker.—Ex.
