Turn off the water supply. Flush the toilet, and use a spongeto remove the remaining water from the tank and bowl.Disconnect the supply shut-off valve (if present), and removethe old tank and bowl.

Remove the old gasket from the floor

and closet flange with a putty knife.

Remove the old T-bolts and discard

them.

If the new toilet is not

installed immediately, temporarily stuff

a rag into the closet flange.

TO INSTALL SUPPLYSHUT-OFF VALVE

Install the supply shut-off valve so it is203mm(8") above the finished floorline, and 130mm(5") to the left of thecloset flange centerline.

The centerline of the supply shut-offvalve outlet should extend 92mm(3-5/8") from the finished wall. Install thesupply shut-off valve with the outletvertical.

TO INSTALL NEW BOWL

Set the bowl upside down on somepadding. Firmly press the toilet gasketonto the bowl outlet.

Wax ring type toilet gasketshould not be installed at temperaturesless than 21 .

If you are using a toiletgasket with an integral plastic sleeve,make sure the gasket is positionedwith the sleeve facing away from thebowl.

If you temporarily plugged the closetflange with a rag, remove the rag atthis time and ensure that the drain pipeis clear and free of debris.

Carefully align and lower the bowl overthe closet flange and T-bolts. Apply fullbody weight to the bowl rim to set theseal.

Do not lift or rock thebowl after placement - a newtoilet gasket must be installed ifyou break the watertight seal.

Assemble the bolt cap bases, washer,and nuts on exposed T-bolts. Handtighten the nuts, then tighten them anadditional 1/2-turn.

Overtightening may causebreakage or chipping of thevitreous china.

If the T-bolts extend more than 6mm(1/4") over the top of the nuts, cut offthe excess and file the end. Wipeaway any residue. Install the bolt cap.

TO INSTALL NEW TANK

Make sure the three tank bolts extendcompletely through the holes in thegasket. Set the tank onto the bowlusing the tank bolts as a guide. Centerthe gasket on the inlet of the bowl.Assemble the washer and brass nutsonto the bolts.

Alternately tighten the three brass nutsso the top of the tank and the top ofthe bowl are both level. Be sure thebrass nuts are tight enough to achievea watertight seal.

Overtightening may causebreakage or chipping of thevitreous china.

Open the supply shut-off valve andcheck all connections for leakage. Ifthe connections have been properlyassembled, a slight retightening of thenuts should stop any leakage.

If the toilet is leaking between the tankand bowl, carefully retighten the threebrass nuts evenly. Periodically checkall the bowl and tank connections forleakage for several days followinginstallation.

The valves andfittings in this toilet require noadjustment. Any attempt toadjust the fittings can damagethe product. Such adjustmentsor any modifications of theproduct are not considerednormal usage, and will void thewarranty.

Hold the float underwater for a few

seconds to fill it with water ballast.

Test flush the toilet by lifting the flapper

chain.

Check all connections for leakage for

several days.

Insert the flange into the center of the

tank cover.

Insert the lift rod into the flange. Hold

lift rod while placing the large washer

and nut onto the other end of the lift

rod. Hand tighten the nut until snug;

then wrench tighten 1/4 turn.

Set the tank cover on the tank so the

cover bracket fits well with the slot hole

located on the back of the tank wall.

TO INSTALL TANK COVER

Carefully lift the front of the tank coverjust enough to gain access to theflapper chain and lift rod. Insert theflapper chain S-hook into the middlehole in the lift rod. Set the tank coveronto the tank.

Test flush the toilet several times toensure proper operation. If the flapperball does not seat properly when thelift rod is raised, provide more flapperchain by:

Relocating the flapper chain S-hock to the bottom hole in the liftrod, or by;

Repositioning the flapper chain S-hook on the flapper chain.

If the toilet does not flush when the liftrod is raised, remove some of theslack in the flapper chain by relocatingthe flapper chain S-hook to the tophole in the lift rod.

CONSUMER RESPONSIBILITIES

If you live in a hard water area, make certain that the holes inthe toilet rim are kept clean to ensure proper bowl flushing.Toilet bowl cleaners should be used at least once a week.Use a long-handled brush to clean the rim holes, and to cleanas far into the trap as possible to prevent mineral depositsfrom forming.

Most toilet bowl cleaners are not harmful to the vitreous chinasurface of the toilet bowl. Please follow the bowl cleanermanufacturers instructions carefully.

Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

Do not use in-tank cleaners. Products containingchlorine (calcium hypochlorite) can seriously damagefittings in the tank. This damage can cause leakageand property damage.

Kohler Company shall not be responsible or liable for anydamage to these tank fittings caused by the use of cleanerscontaining chlorine (calcium hypochlorite).
