Installation Instructions The Watts SD2 is a dual check designed or the protection o the water supply rom carbon dioxide gas and carbonated water.

 These substances can fow rom post-mix beverage systems andare very acidic. I the acidic water comes in contact with coppertubing or copper pipe, it will cause the leaching o copper saltsinto the water supply. The dissolved copper i ingested can causenausea, abdominal pain, and in some cases vomiting. The SD2prevents the reverse fow o potentially contaminated water back 

into the potable water supply due to back pressure backfow and isused or continuous or intermittent pressure conditions.

InstallationBeore installing, fush out pipe lines to remove scale and other or-eign matter. The valve can be installed horizontally or vertically (fowup or down). Install the valve in the line with the arrow on the valvebody pointing in the direction o fow. The valve should be installedsuch that the valve is accessible or service and maintenance.

Important The device should not be installed inside a wall or in a concealedlocation. Copper tubing shall not be used on the downstream sideo the backfow preventer.

 Applications The Watts SD2 is recommended or use on Post-Mix CarbonatedBeverage Equipment and dispensing equipment or tea and coee.

Maintenance Annual inspection is required o the backfow preventer to insureproper operation o the device. It is also recommended that astrainer be installed upstream o the backfow preventer.

Temperature and PressureMaximum Pressure - 200psi (13.8 bar). Maximum Temperature -110°F (43°C).
