This place is one of a kind, a cozy, dark, vintage-decorated place with a recently renovated menu that offers a slightly modern and gourmet Mexican food. Ideal place for Business meals or just for a nice time with the friends. They’ve recently been awarded with a national recognition on for its decoration. The wine cellar and drinks selection is also very good and carefully chosen.

El Rodeo

Uno de los mejores lugares en la ciudad para comer carne. Más de 30 años en pie no los junta cualquiera, este lugar sabe como servir los cortes y especialidades de esta región norteña. Dicen que el que no ha comido chinchulines (tripitas) o machitos en sus tradicionales asientos de madera, no es de Chihuahua… Nos quitamos el sombrero para este clásico.

We take our hats off in respect for this classic… Well-known for being an ‘’all things meat’’ place, if you love meat, then this is one of the best restaurants in town. It’s been up and running for more than 30 years, they even say that if you’ve never eaten on its traditional wooden seats you’re not from Chihuahua. Perfect spot for business meals.

Nos gusta mucho este lugar porque su chef siempre tiene algo nuevo y fresco para servir. La especialidad es la comida italiana, pero quizás sea más conocido por preparar todo ahí mismo, en casa. Definitivamente eso se nota en el sabor y la frescura de los platillos, todos muy bien presentados, además de eso la cava también ofrece vinos perfectos para el maridaje.

Who doesn’t love Italian food, and more if it is made from scratch with fresh ingredients and more importantly: with love. Also, this place is known for having constant season specialties on the menu, which makes it an interesting option. A little boutique restaurant with a creative chef and where everything is made in-house. The wine cellar also offers great wines.

La Crema y Nata

Surrounded by traditional post revolutionary residences from the mid XX Century, this house is amongst the oldest in town. Recently transformed to host the ISAG (Institute of Gastronomical Art) on the first floor, where the dishes are created. The tables are set on the second floor and terrace. An interesting concept, unique in the city, the dishes are refined, well prepared and very tasty.

Agradable, cómodo e ideal para cualquier tipo de plan: celebraciones, familia, negocios o amigos. La especialidad son los jugosos cortes, sobretodo el corte Kobe de calidad inigualable y marmoleo perfecto (único lugar en la ciudad que lo tiene). Además de la especialidad, se sirven excelentes entradas y otros platillos para los no tan carnívoros. La cava de vinos es de gran variedad, enfocada en mexicanos.

A nice, spacious place that suits every type of meal. Steaks are the specialty here and it’s actually the only place in town that serves Kobe Beef, carefully selected and with a unique marbling. Apart from the specialty, they serve a variety of appetizers and dishes for the not so carnivore: salads, soups, fish or chicken. The wine cellar is varied, focusing on Mexican products.

‘’Tio’’ means uncle in Spanish, and ever since ‘’Uncle Taco’’ came to settle here at Chihuahua, the locals received him gladly. Este lugar te dice cómo comer mariscos de una manera original, sencilla pero con muy buen sazón. También es familiar entre semana y los precios bastante razonables.

This place is known for serving seafood in an original and simple way but with very good taste. Besides that, it is perhaps better known for the great atmosphere when the weekend is approaching. Friends gather from Wednesday to Saturday night and families are welcomed during weekdays. Prices are very reasonable and the location is excellent (very close from the main hotels).

Located at the heart of the city center, it’s actually a little hidden but it’s worth the search. The kitchen serves freshly made specialties from the Old Continent and they also have one of the best wood-oven pizzas in town.

Diego is an Italian who decided to venture himself inside the ‘’Mexican Dream’’; he’s been delighting us with his fabulous creations and flavors for more than 10 years now. He learned all his skills in his natal Milano, and has even been awarded with an international prize at a very important fair (Rímin Expo) with a flavor he invented, named ‘’Mozart’’.

Kind of a landmark around here, this place has been serving delicious tacos and other specialties for more than 30 years now. The meat is prepared ‘’Jalisco’’ style with a secret recipe that has conquered the hearts of all Chihuahua and even some celebrities. It’s also a favorite among our team and definitely a place to visit while you’re in town.

Un pequeño puesto itinerante en la acera del parque ‘’Ciudad Deportiva’’ que lleva tantos años que se ha convertido en un clásico. Recomendado por nuestro fotógrafo, amplio conocedor de la comida callejera, este puesto se caracteriza por servir deliciosa barbacoa con un sazón inigualable. Además, si llegas muy hambriento, no te preocupes, en menos de un minuto tienes orden de tacos en el plato.

A small stall located on the sidewalk of the ‘’Ciudad Deportiva’’ park that’s been there for so long that it has become part of the landscape. Kiko serves a pretty damn good ‘‘barbacoa’’, a slow-cooked, deliciously prepared shredded meat that can be served on a tortilla or bread. Recommended by our photographer (street food erudite), this place is worth it.

Un miembro de nuestro staff nos recomendó mucho este lugar y cuando fuimos comprobamos por que razón nos hablaba tan bien de aquí. Por más de 5 años ya (y contando) el amigable personal ha preparado una variedad de hamburguesas con combinaciones de ingredientes que provocaron que se nos hiciera agua la boca. ¡Nos quitamos el sombrero para estas vaqueras!

A member of our staff told us about these burgers so we had to get there and try them for ourselves. ¡Oh my! We now know why they have 5 years (and counting) flipping burgers and satisfying hungry Chihuahuans. The variety and combination of ingredients will make your mouth water. We take our hats off for these Cowboys (Vaquero=Cowboy).

Estos tacos tienen toda una reputación en Chihuahua y lo tienen bien merecido. La carne cocida al carbón natural en la parrilla y picada finamente le dan ese toque único que caracteriza al sabor y estilo de Sonora. Todos los ingredientes son frescos y del día, para darle ese sabor aún más especial. Si no los conoces, tienes que ir en este momento a probarlos.

These guys have a big reputation around here and they deserve it. The natural charcoal-cooked and thinly sliced meat is unique of the Sonora-style preparation and it makes it really tasty and soft. All the ingredients are bought fresh and used the same day, which really adds to the quality. Talk about good Mexican street food? This is the place, go there, please.

Uno de los museos más importantes de la ciudad, no sólo por su gran trayecto histórico como edificio, pero también por sus múltiples salones en los que guarda exposiciones permanentes y temporales de nuestra historia y la región. Lo más importante de este recinto es sin duda el calabozo de Hidalgo, donde estuvo preso el padre de nuestra patria, previa su ejecución.

This is one of the most important museums in town, not only for the long time it has been standing, but also for the multiple rooms containing bits and pieces of our proud history as Mexicans, and our beautiful region. The most important room is, without a doubt, the Hidalgo cell, where one of our founding fathers was held prisoner by the Spaniards, right before his execution.

Museo Quinta Gameros

Al entrar al recinto se respira la historia y manera como se vivía en épocas de antaño. Definitivamente es uno de los edificios más hermosos de la ciudad, actualmente alberga un museo con mobiliario y objetos ornamentales del movimiento Art Nouveau, mismo que inspiró su estilo de construcción. Vale la pena visitarlo y escuchar un poco de su revoltosa historia.

As soon as you enter this place you begin to breathe the history around these walls. Definitely one of the prettiest buildings in town, now it hosts a museum with furniture and objects from the Art Nouveau movement, same one that inspired the style of its construction. It’s worth to pay the visit and listen to its unique story.

Este edificio alberga un museo de 9 salas con material sobre el Benemérito de las Américas: Benito Juárez. En un principio fue sede del Poder Ejecutivo Local, después llegó a ser sede del Gobierno Federal y casa habitación del propio Juárez. En el 2000 se remodeló y ambientó con muebles y objetos originales de la época. Vale la pena visitarlo y aprender un poco de este personaje histórico.

This museum is about one of the most important characters of Mexican history: Benito Juárez. The building used to be the headquarters of the Local government and then when president Juárez came to Chihuahua it was turned to the Federal Government Headquarters. It has 9 rooms with information about Juarez’s journey through our state and decorated with furniture and objects from that time..
