An Evening with George WinstonGeorge Winston is an American pianist who is best known for his solo piano recordings. With a musical career spanning more than four decades, Winston remains a master of both tone and invention, setting the bar high for pianists in genres as diverse as rural folk and New Orleans R&B. Apple Hill and Picnic LunchJoin us for a scenic drive to beautiful Apple Hill, complete with a picnic lunch. Apple Hill offers a variety of delicious baked goods, from pies to bread. We will be making a special stop at Abel's Acres which is famous for its homemade candies, ranging from cappuccino and fudge to caramallows (caramel dipped marshmallows) and candied apples. Abel's Apple Acres also offers a pumpkin patch and a craft fair. Join us for this festive Fall outing!

Oakmont Senior Living and OneDayWe are thrilled to announce that Oakmont Senior Living recently established a partnership with OneDay, a storytelling app that will allow residents to showcase their Oakmont experience through videos! Activity Directors will be using this app, designed specifically for senior living, to capture residents ’ Words of Wisdom, as well as other memorable activities and events that take place at each community. Then, videos can be shared directly with family members. Pre-designed questions like, “tell me about your first date with your spouse” will lead to priceless videos for families to cherish. Residents will be invited to try out this app during monthly Words of Wisdom workshops. Please see your Activity Director for more information. Lights, camera, action!

Celebrate Grandparents Day in the company of your loved ones with a specially prepared meal. Following lunch, participate in our decorative soap making activity. Create beautiful and non-toxic soaps that are easy and fun to make for both grandchildren and grandparents!

We would like to introduce Kathleen, a new resident at Oakmont of Folsom. Kathleen moved here from Petaluma, where she had lived since 1969. She raised five children and, according to one of her sons, she was quite the chef when they were growing up! Her family's favorite meal was her famous beef stroganoff. Since joining our community, Kathleen has had great success in our bingo club and enjoys the daily chronicle. In her free time, she also likes to visit

friends in Sausalito and host poker parties. If you haven't already, please introduce yourself to Kathleen and welcome her!
