What is Circle k?
Circle K International (CKI) is the premier collegiate community service, leadership development, and friendship organisation in the world. With more than 13,000 members in 19 nations, CKI is making a positive impact on the world every day.
Circle K clubs are organised and sponsored by a Kiwanis club on a college or university campus. CKI is a self-governing organisation and elects its own officers, conducts its own meetings, and determines its own service activities.
CKI blends community service and leadership training with the opportunity to meet other college students around the world. Projects such as the Six Cents Initiative, CKI’s International fundraiser that aims to provide water to the 2.2 billion children worldwide who lack safe drinking water, bring CKI members together to make a difference in the world.
THE HISTORY OF CIRCLE K
CKI began in 1936 as a Kiwanis club service project to provide an opportunity for capable, ambitious, and worthy young men to acquire a college education by assisting them, where necessary, with their financial problems, by means of a scholarship fund, if available, or securing part-time employment.

2000: Members of CKI surpass the US$420,000 mark in the effort to eliminate iodine deficiency disorders.
2005: CKI marks its 50th anniversary.
2007:

Circle k International is a service organisation formed
to help the community through various service projects.
It’s a part of an umbrella of organisations led by the
Kiwanis International. Circle K International also aims
to build friendship and create leaders within the
membership.
In April 2012, the Circle K club was organized by our
chartering president, Patrick Walters and with the
assistance of then International Representative Lincois
Ewers. The move was in bid to provide college students
with leadership opportunities for their career and work
service projects to better their communities while
having a sense of fellowship.
On July 11, 2012, the International University of the
Caribbean, Central Campus Circle K club was officially
chartered with the Kiwanis Club of Downtown
Kingston being its sponsoring Kiwanis club. The
chartering ceremony was held in accordance with its
mandate on September 25, 2012, seeing thirty eight (38)
members inducted including the executive board for the
Circle K year 2012-2013.
As members, “we pledged to uphold the objects of
