PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Welcome back to all of our students and staff at
LLESS. I hope that everyone had a relaxing and
enjoyable summer and you are excited about the
upcoming year. It is always nice to see new students
arrive at LLESS to add to the great spirit and culture
that our school holds.
With the start of the new school year comes the
opportunity to welcome new staff. Joining our staff
this year will be Mr. Swint who will be teaching Math,
PE, Art, Science and Leadership. Ms. Viezzer has
joined our staff as a Certified Educational Assistant
and will be immersed in many classes.
You may have noticed that we have had a couple
building upgrades take place over the summer.
Some classrooms saw old carpets removed and
replaced with revitalizing new linoleum. Our staff
washrooms were converted to gender-neutral
washrooms and available for everyone to use.
Our website for LLES is currently being upgraded
along with the District’s and all other schools. Once
completed, I encourage you to visit our website as it
is an excellent source of information with regard to
events taking place, important dates, and other
school initiatives. You can find our website at
www.llss.sd73.bc.ca. In addition, we are aiming to
produce a monthly newsletter in an effort to
communicate with our parents and community.
A reminder to our parents that we have a very
supportive PAC at LLES and LLESS under the
guidance of Nicole Montgomery, our PAC Chair. Our
PAC serves as a great collaborative role in our
schools with a primary focus on our learning
environment and supporting student centered
initiatives. They are not fundraising positions but
rather opportunities to be a part of goal setting and
planning to enhance our overall educational
programs. Our next meeting is taking place on
Monday, October 1st at 8:45 a.m. in the LLES
conference room. Please feel free to join us. I look
forward to meeting new parents who would like to be
a part of our school/community planning.
As I enter my first full year at LLES and LLESS, I look
forward to continuing to work hard for our students,
staff and community and continue with several
initiatives we started upon my arrival in April of last
year. I look forward to working with our caring,
capable and courageous students to create the best
positive learning experiences. Let’s have another
great year at LLESS.
As always, please feel free to email or call me with
any questions or concerns you may have.
Sincerely,
Ron Collins – Principal
