  • This policy document is evidence of alegally binding contract of insurancebetween you (the Insured) and us(AIG Europe Limited).

    The contract is based on theinformation you provided on yoursigned proposal form, or statementof fact and any other informationgiven either verbally or in writing byyou or on your behalf at the time youapplied for insurance.

    We have agreed to insure you againstliability loss or damage that may occurwithin the territorial limits of thepolicy during any period ofinsurance for which you have paid,or agreed to pay the premium. Thecover we provide is subject to theterms, conditions and exceptionscontained in this policy document orin any endorsement applying to thispolicy document.

    Nobody other than you (the Insured)and us (AIG Europe Limited) have anyrights that they can enforce under thiscontract except for those rights whichthey have under road traffic legislationin any country in which this insuranceapplies.

    Unless specifically agreed otherwise,this insurance shall be subject to IrishLaw.

    By taking out a AIG Box Clever policyyou agree to having a boxprofessionally fitted to your car by usor our approved installer and tohaving your data collected and usedas provided for below.

    We issue you with a certificate ofmotor insurance and provide coverto you subject to the terms andconditions of your policy for an initialperiod of 12 months.

    Your cover is connected to thenumber of kilometres that you drive.When you purchase your policy fromus, you choose and pay for policykilometres for the period ofinsurance which are measured whenyou drive your car by a telematicsbox fitted to your car. You can earnreward kilometres for safe drivingand/or buy additional top-upkilometres if you need more than thepolicy kilometres you are allowed inany one period of insurance. Pleasesee Important Terms of your PolicyItem 11 Kilometres for more details.

    You must notify all insured personson your policy or any other personwho drives your car that a box hasbeen installed in your car, that theirjourney will be monitored and datacollected, that you will have visibilityof their data via www.ratemydriving.ieand provide them with the informationset out in this policy regarding the useof their personal information.

    If you sell your car you must adviseus of the sale of the car so that wecan de-activate the box and you mustalso advise the new owner of the carthat a box is fitted.

    1. Data to be CollectedThe box will capture data from thedate of installation via anelectronic data feed which willtranslate the GPS co-ordinatesfrom the box providing variousinformation including speed limitof the road, road type and theroad surface you are driving on atthat time.

    The types of driving behaviourwhich will be recorded mayinclude time and date of journey,distance travelled, locationcoordinates, speed, brakingfrequency and force, accelerationand cornering.

    We will collect this data in respectof any driving of your car.Therefore we will collect this datain respect of your driving and allother insured persons or anyother person driving your car.

    2. Use of Data Collected The data will be used to calculateyour AIG Box Clever score. Inaddition we may aggregateinformation obtained from thedata to conduct anonymous

    profiling and to develop ourproducts and services.

    Dotsys Ltd will process andsecurely transmit the anonymiseddata to us.

    We are a data controller asdefined in the Data Protection Acts1988 – 2003. We, our agentsand our service providers willprocess your information inaccordance with the DataProtection Acts 1988 – 2003.

    The information obtained throughthe box will be used by us, ouragents or our service providers:• In respect of the installation,

    removal, de-activating andservicing of the box;

    • To provide you with data onwww.ratemydriving.ieregarding your driving;

    • In the calculation of your AIGBox Clever score basedupon your recorded drivingbehaviour;

    • Where you make a claim;• To provide you with theft

    tracking in respect of yourcar;

    • To aggregate informationwhich we will use in thedevelopment of our productsand services including theAIG Box Clever scorecalculation.

    3 Disclosure to Third PartiesWe may disclose informationcollected by the box:• Where you have provided

    your consent in the TelematicsServices Agreement betweenDotsys Ltd and you;

    • To our agents and serviceproviders in connection withthis agreement;

    • If we are legally obliged todisclose that information byvirtue of legislation, regulationor court order;

    • For the purposes ofaddressing insurance fraud.

    4. How Long Retain DataWe will retain the information youhave provided us and the datawe collected for as long as ispermitted by law. Information anddata collected via the box will bekept for up to six years after theconclusion of your relationshipwith us.

    5. Your Rights Regarding the DataYou have a right to access,correct or object to the use of, orrequest deletion or suppression ofpersonal information on certaingrounds. Please see “How WeUse Personal Information” at page42 of your policy for furtherinformation.

  • 6. Box InstallationWhen you take out your policyor change your car, we or ourapproved installer will contact youto arrange for a box to be fitted toyour car.

    We will pay the cost of:• The box;• Fitting the box;• Retreiving data from the box.

    We will arrange to have the boxfitted within 14 days of you takingout a policy with us. We willcontact you to arrange a mutuallyconvenient time and place toundertake the fitting. We reservethe right to nominate analternative site near your home orplace of work to fit the box.

    If we so request, you must allowus, or our approved supplier,access to your car to retrieve thebox in the event of you cancellingor not renewing your policy withus. Upon cancellation of yourpolicy, we will remotely de-activate the box.

    It is your responsibility to ensurethat you have the agreement ofany co-owner, hire purchasecompany or any other person thathas a legal interest in your carbefore the box is installed. Thebox will be fitted discreetly byprofessional engineers who have

    been trained according to strictguidelines. The box is compatiblewith any type of vehicle and willnot affect any manufacturer oraftermarket warranties that mayapply to your car.

    7. Late Cancellation ofAppointment to Install BoxIf you do not present your car atthe time and location agreed withus or our installers for theinstallation or de-installation ofthe box, or if you cancel such anappointment with less than 24hours notice then we reserve theright to charge you for the costsour approved installer incurs as aresult.

    8. DocumentsTo enable us verify the accuracy ofinformation provided by you tous, the following documents mustbe sent to us within 14 days ofyour policy commencing:

    1 Your driving licence;2 Proof of your no claims bonus

    (if you are claiming any).

    Failure to provide the requireddocumentation may lead to yourpolicy being cancelled within theterms set out in GeneralConditions 4 ‘Cancellation’.

    comes to fit the box a photographof your car will be taken.

    9. Dealing with Faults andLimitations of Service In the event of the box developinga fault during the period ofinsurance, we will contact youand make all reasonable efforts torepair or (at our option) replacethe box free of charge. We willarrange with you a mutuallyconvenient time and place for areplacement box to be fitted. Youmust give us access to your carwithin 7 days of being notified ofthe fault or, where there areexceptional circumstances thatprevent you from doing so, withina reasonable time. Any kilometresdriven during this time will not beincluded in calculating your AIGBox Clever score.

    You accept that the box uses thebattery power supply and so theremay be a small drain on yourbattery even when your car is notbeing used. You accept it is yourresponsibility to maintain your carand battery in good working order.To help alert you of any batteryissues, we will advise you if thebox detects a low battery charge.The collection and transmission ofdata by the box and the provisionof the theft tracking mayoccasionally be impaired or

    interrupted by operational and/oratmospheric conditions, powerfailures, or other causes,conditions or events beyond ourreasonable control or thecapabilities of the box.

    The transmission and receipt ofdata is dependent upon mobiletelecommunications services andyou acknowledge that this servicemay be interrupted, circumventedor compromised. If transmission ofdata is affected in the mannerdescribed in this paragraph, thisdoes not necessarily mean thebox is defective. However, we willmake reasonable efforts to rectifythe problem with suchtransmission where it is possiblefor us to do so.

    Where there is no GPS signal thebox has no data to record so anykilometres driven during this timewill not be included in calculatingyour AIG Box Clever score.

    During the period of insurancewe may, at our discretion, replacethe box at our expense with anyother telematic unit providing youwith at least the same functionality.This will enable us to ensure thebox is updated if there aretechnological changes orimprovements.

    10. Your DrivingOnce the box is installed, justdrive as you normally would. Thebox allows us to understand howsafely you drive your car, howfar you travel and when you useit.

    We use the data the box sendsto us to provide you with yourAIG Box Clever score based onhow safely we interpret yourdriving. You can view your AIGBox Clever score, and see howit has changed over time onwww.ratemydriving.ie, your ownpersonal dashboard website.

    Your AIG Box Clever score can beaffected by the way other peopledrive your car and it is yourresponsibility that insured personsare aware of this.

    11. Kilometres and CalculatingYour AIG Box Clever ScoreWhen you take out a policy youchoose the number of policykilometres you require. If youuse up all of your policykilometres and any rewardkilometres you may have beenallocated before the end of theperiod of insurance, you mustbuy top up kilometres or wewill cancel your policy. You canbuy top up kilometres in

    bundles of 400, 800 or 1,500kilometres at any time during theperiod of insurance.

    ImportantPlease choose the level ofkilometres you require carefullyas it is more expensive to choosea lower level of policy kilometresplus top up kilometres than it isto buy the higher number ofpolicy kilometres at the start ofyour policy or at renewal.

    If you use up the kilometres youhave purchased (including anytop up kilometres) or have been rewarded and you choosenot to purchase additionalkilometres then we will cancelthis policy. Please refer toGeneral Conditions 4‘Cancellation’.

    If you have not used all of yourkilometres when the policy is dueto be renewed, any of theoriginal kilometres that are notused are lost and are notcredited to the next period ofinsurance. There is no financialexchange for unused kilometres.However, any unused top upand/or reward kilometres willbe credited to your overallkilometres for the next periodof insurance.When your policy is renewed,

    you will receive a renewal noticebased upon the number ofpolicy kilometres we think youwill need however, you canamend this level if you wish. Anytop-up and/or rewardkilometres that have beencarried forward are used firstbefore the new policykilometres.

    A high AIG Box Clever score isachieved where we, in ourabsolute discretion, determinethat you have demonstratedgood driving behaviour. which isbased on the overall driving ofthe car including any othersdriving your car.

    Driving behaviour will becalculated to reflect the risk ofyou making a claim rather thandetermining how skilful you areas a driver.

    ImportantPlease note that although youmay start earning rewardkilometres immediately (byhaving a high AIG Box CleverScore), you will not be able tosee them on www.ratemydrive.iefor the first 3 months after yourperiod of insurancecommences. During this time wewill be collecting informationfrom the telematics boxes of allour customers to ensure that we

    deliver to you a system whichaccurately and fairly rewardsgood driving behaviour.

    Only the policyholder and anyinsured person named on yourcurrent certificate of motorinsurance may drive your car.

    12. PremiumsWe will not increase yourpremium in the first year based onthe data obtained from the box orcancel your policy based on dataobtained from the box (unlessyou are found to be driving yourcar in excess of 160kph or wemay cancel otherwise inaccordance with the terms andconditions of your policy).

    However if you use up all ofyour initial allocation ofkilometres during the period ofinsurance and you have notbeen allocated rewardkilometres, in order to continueyour insurance cover for theremainder of the period ofinsurance, you will have topurchase top up kilometres atan additional cost to you.

    On renewal your premium maybe increased or decreased takinginto account your AIG BoxClever score in the previousperiod of insurance (and anyother relevant terms of yourpolicy).

    13. Speed

    Important – Speedinga) If the box detects that your car

    has been driven at 160km/h orover on a public road, yourpolicy will be cancelled underthe terms shown in GeneralConditions 4 ‘Cancellation’.

    b) If the box detects that your carhas persistently been drivenabove the speed limit and wehave given you at least threespeeding warnings, your policywill be cancelled under theterms shown in GeneralCondition 4 ‘Cancellation’.Persistently means the box hasdetected a dangerousspeeding event a further twotimes after our second speedingwarning.

    Dangerous speeding eventFor the purposes of this section ofthe policy and general condition4, a dangerous speeding eventoccurs where the box detects thatyour car has been driven 25% ormore above the speed limit for theroad being travelled on.

    For example where the speed limitis:40km/h, a dangerous speedingevent occurs if your car has beendriven at 50km/h or over;

    60km/h, a dangerous speedingevent occurs if your car has beendriven at 75km/h or over;

    100km/h, a dangerousspeeding event occurs if your carhas been driven at 125km/h orover;

    120km/h, a dangerousspeeding event occurs if your carhas been driven at 150km/h orover.

    Speeding Warning

    You will be given a speedingwarning (as outlined below) wherethe box detects that your car hasbeen driven above the speed limit.

    Speeding Warning 1 - You will begiven a speeding warning wherethe box detects more than twodangerous speeding events (i.e.the speeding warning will be givenon detection of the thirddangerous speeding event).

    Speeding Warning 2 – You will begiven a second speeding warningwhere the box detects a furthertwo dangerous speeding eventsafter the first speeding warning.The second speeding warning willwarn you that the policy will becancelled if you continue tospeed.

    Notice of cancellation – You willbe given notice of cancellation ofyour policy where the box detectsa further two dangerousspeeding events after the secondspeeding warning.

    14. Theft TrackingYou must report the theft to theGardai and obtain a GardaIncident Number, to verify a thefthas taken place and you mustreport the incident to our claimsdepartment on 01 8599700.

    You will be responsible for anycharges in respect of storage orrecovery of your car by theGardai.

    15. Accident TrackingBy virtue of the existence of GPStracking functionality, we shouldbe aware if an accident occurs.Where possible we will aim tocontact you on the number yousupplied to us when the policywas arranged or renewed and willtake the actions necessary to getyou mobile again. If your car isnot safe to be driven, we willarrange for your car to be takenfor repair in accordance with theterms of your policy.

    However, you must contact theemergency services or report theaccident to the Gardai after anaccident has occurred and youmust report the accident toour claims department on 01 8599700.

    16. TamperingThe box has tamper controls andattack safe guards. If the

    intelligent alert system is triggeredit will notify us of anyunauthorised tampering with thebox. An investigation will beinitiated and a physical inspectionby an engineer will be required.

    You must not, nor may you allowany other person to tamper with,reverse engineer, dismantle,remove the SIM from, relocate ormake any alterations, additions orimprovements to any part of thebox.

    You must not, nor may you allowany other person to tamper withthe GPS signal that is emitted fromthe box.Whilst you are a policyholder,no one other than us and/or ourapproved installer may install,remove, modify or repair the box.Please note that tampering withthe box will invalidate allwarranties relating to the box andinstallation, and also invalidatethe insurance cover provided.Damage or loss caused by anyform of tampering or non-permitted interaction with the boxis not covered by this insurancepolicy.

    If, following an investigation, youor anyone else is proven to havetampered with the box, you willbe required to pay for anyreasonable costs we may haveincurred including removing,

    repairing or replacing thedefective box or parts thereof.Your insurance policy will also becancelled and you will be liablefor the disconnection andcancellation fees shown within theterms set out in GeneralConditions 4 ‘Cancellation’.

    17. ClaimsData obtained from the box maybe used by us to assess claims.If you have a claim during theperiod of insurance your AIGBox Clever score will not beaffected. Your policy will be subject toexisting claims criteria at renewal.

    18. Driving your car AbroadIn some countries while you aredriving your car abroad, yourdriving data may be recorded butnot transmitted. If this occurs thebox will transmit some or all ofyour driving data to us when youreturn to the Republic of Ireland.

    The data transmitted to us uponyour return to the Republic ofIreland will be used in thecalculation of your AIG BoxClever score.

  • These General Conditions apply to allsections of this policy.

    1. General We will only provide the coverdescribed in this policy if: • You, or any person claiming

    indemnity or on whose behalfindemnity is claimed hascomplied with all of the termsand conditions that apply.

    • The information you gave tous when applying for orrenewing this policy, whenmaking changes to thispolicy, or in the course ofmaking a claim, is completeand accurate as far as youknow or could be expected toknow. You must have askedany other drivers covered bythis policy any relevantquestions to get theinformation about themrequested by us.

    2. Policy ChangesYou must tell us immediatelyabout any changes which affectthis policy and which haveoccurred since the period ofinsurance commenced or sincethe last renewal date including,but not limited to, the following:• You sell the car to which the

    box is fitted.• You change your car, or you

    have purchased another car

    to which you want yourexisting cover to apply.

    • You wish a new driver to becovered.

    • You or any other driver passestheir driving test.

    • Any Insured Person whodrives your car gets amotoring or other convictionor fixed penalty.

    • Any Insured Person whodrives your car suffers from amedical condition or has aclaim on another policy.

    • The car is changed ormodified from themanufacturer’s standardspecification or you intend tochange or modify it (includingthe addition of optional fitaccessories such as spoilers,skirts, alloy wheels etc.).

    • A change of occupation (fullor part-time) by you or anyother driver.

    • A change of postal address.• A change of address at which

    the car is kept and where thecar is located overnight.

    • A change in the use for whichyou use your car.

    • Your car is involved in anaccident or incident of anynature no matter how trivial.

    • A change to the main user ofthe car.

    • You change your phonenumber including yourmobile phone number so that

    we can contact you in theevent of an accident.

    This is not a full list and if you arein any doubt you should adviseus for your own protection. If youdo not tell us about changes,your policy may not cover youfully or at all.

    If you sell your car you mustnotify the new owner that a boxhas been installed.

    3. Cancellation (You)You may cancel this policy:a) At any time by notifying us

    and returning the certificateof motor insurance. Notethat cancellation will only takeeffect upon receipt of thecertificate of motorinsurance.

    b) Provided no claim has beenmade or has arisen under thispolicy prior to cancellationduring the current period ofinsurance you will be entitledto a refund of premium less acharge reflecting the cover wehave provided up to thecancellation of your policy.This charge will be calculatedon a proportionate basis oneither the period of cover youhave received or thekilometres you have usedwhichever amount is higher. Ifthe box has already been

    fitted to your car, or hadbeen fitted to a car youpreviously insured with us,you will be charged anadditional cancellation fee of€125 to cover the cost of theprovision of the box.

    The box will be left in place ina disconnected state and willnot collect or transmit anydata. On occasion we mayrequest the physical removalof the box from your car inwhich case you must allow usaccess to the car to retrievethe box if requested by us.

    c) If you cancel your policy atrenewal the box will be left inplace and we will remotelydeacticate the box so that itcannot collect or transmit anydata. If you request that thebox is removed then a chargeof €125 will apply.

    These fees will be subject to anytaxes and/or Government levieswhere appropriate.

    In the event that the amount youowe upon cancellation is greaterthan the amount of refundcalculated, we will be entitled tocharge you for the balance owedby you.

    4. Cancellation (Us)We may cancel this policy:a) By giving you 10 days written

    notice to your last knownaddress. All cover will ceasefrom that date. You mustimmediately return thecertificate of motorinsurance to us.

    Provided no claim has beenmade or has arisen under thispolicy prior to cancellationyou will be entitled to a refundof premium reflecting thecover we have provided up tothe cancellation of yourpolicy. This charge will becalculated on a proportionatebasis on either the period ofcover you have received, orthe kilometres you have usedwhichever amount is higher.

    These fees will be subject toany taxes and/or Governmentlevies where appropriate.

    b) From the commencement dateof your policy if you do notpay your premium. You must,upon cancellation, return thecertificate of motor insuranceto us.

    c) If you use up all thekilometres you havepurchased (including any topup kilometres) and any

    kilometres you have beenrewarded and you choose notto purchase additionalkilometres we will write toyou giving you 10 daysnotice at your last knownaddress. The policy will ceaseimmediately when the 10 daynotice period expires unlessduring that period you havebought further top-upkilometres. Where the policyceases, you must immediatelyreturn the certificate of motorinsurance to us. You will notbe entitled to any refund ofpremium in this event.

    d) If, following an investigation itis clear that the box has beentampered with.

    e) If the box detects that your carhas been driven at 160kph orover on a public road.

    f) In the event of a total lossclaim under this policy wherewe have decided to make acash payment for not morethan the market value of yourcar rather than repair orreplace your car, you mustimmediately return thecertificate of motorinsurance to us. You will notbe entitled to any refund ofpremium and all remainingpremiums for the period of

    this policy will immediatelybecome due. We reserve theright to deduct this amountfrom the claims settlement.

    Where the policy is cancelled byeither party or not renewed, we willremotely deactivate the box so thatthe data is no longer collected ortransmitted. In addition, if we sorequest, you must allow us, or ourapproved supplier, access to yourcar to retreive the box.

    5. 14-day Cooling off periodIf you find that this policy doesnot meet your needs, return thedocuments to us within 14 days ofreceipt. Provided you have notmade a claim, your premium willbe refunded minus a pro ratacharge for the time on cover.However, if the box has alreadybeen fitted to your car, or hadbeen fitted to a car you previouslyinsured with us, you will becharged a cancellation fee of€125 to cover the cost of theprovision of the box.

    6. Payment by InstalmentsIf you pay your premium byinstalments under a creditagreement you must pay anydeposit we ask you to pay andeach instalment when it is due.We have only agreed to receivethe premium from your creditsupplier on the condition that, ifyou default in payment of any of

    the instalments due to the creditsupplier, and fail to comply withthe resulting statutory notice, wewill have the option to cancel thepolicy in accordance with thecancellation conditions set outabove.

    If we do so, provided no claim hasbeen made or has arisen under thispolicy prior to cancellation, youwill be entitled to a refund ofpremium less a charge reflectingthe cover we have provided up tothe cancellation of your policy.This charge will be calculated on aproportionate basis on either theperiod of cover you have received,in accordance with the cancellationrefund table shown in item 7 below,or the kilometres you have usedwhichever amount is higher.

    You must allow us access to thecar to retrieve the box if requestedby us.

    These fees will be subject to anytaxes and/or Government levieswhere appropriate.

    You must pay any balanceoutstanding. If there has been anyoverpayment by you, this will thenbe refunded.

    7. Duty to Prevent Loss orDamageYou or any insured person must:

    • maintain your car in a safeand roadworthy conditionand, where required by lawhaving regard to the age ofyour car, have a valid NCTcertificate;

    • maintain all tyres on your carwithin the legal tread depthrequirements.

    • take all reasonable steps toprevent accidents, injury, lossor damage;

    • protect your car against lossor damage;

    • give us reasonable access toexamine your car and itsdocuments in relation to anymatter relevant to thisinsurance.

    The absence of a valid NCT certificatemay invalidate your cover underSection 1 (Loss of or damage to yourcar).

    8. In the event of a claimYou, or any person driving orusing your car with yourpermission (as long as this isallowed by your certificate ofmotor insurance) or anypassengers travelling in or gettingout of your car, claiming underthis policy must: • give us full details of any

    accident, injury, loss ordamage giving rise or whichmay give rise to a claim underthis policy, as soon aspossible and at least within 24

    hours of discovery of theincident occurring;

    • in the event of loss or damageto your car as a result of theftor attempted theft ormalicious damage, you mustnotify the Gardai as soon aspossible and at least within 24hours of discovery of theincident. You must send us acopy of the Garda reportwhich must say that the loss ordamage was the result oftheft, attempted theft ormalicious damage;

    • take all reasonable steps torecover any lost or stolenproperty and notify us if suchproperty is recovered and / orreturned to you;

    • forward to us every claimform, writ, summons, legaldocument, or othercommunication in connectionwith any claim, or incidentthat may give rise to a claim,unanswered and withoutdelay;

    • provide us with all thenecessary information andassistance that we mayrequire;

    • not abandon any property tous;

    • tell us immediately theaddress of where your carhas been recovered to or youmay be liable for any storagecharges that occur.

    You must not assume that we areaware of any incident that hasoccurred or that we will contact you,the Gardai or emergency services.

    You must not, without our priorwritten consent:• negotiate or admit liability or

    responsibility;• make any offer, promise or

    payment.

    We will be entitled to:• appoint our own repairers to carry

    out any repair work to your car;• take over and carry out in your

    name (or in the name of any otherinsured person) the defence orsettlement of any claim;

    • take proceedings in your name orin the name of any other insuredperson claiming under the policy,at our own expense and for ourown benefit to recover anypayment we have made under thepolicy;

    • exercise full discretion over theconduct of any proceedings andin the settlement of any claim;

    • instruct, and give informationabout you and your policy, toother people such as suppliers,private investigators and lossadjustors in accordance with ourPrivacy Policy which is available atwww.aig.ie.

    9. Other Insurance If at the time of any incident whichresults in a claim under this policy

    there is any other insurancecovering the same loss, damageor liability, we will only pay ourrateable share.

    10. Payments Under CompulsoryInsurance while travellingabroadYou must repay to us all amountswe pay for any claim under thispolicy which we would not havehad to pay but for the laws of anyterritory in which the policyapplies. This applies to claims foryour liability to others and allexpenses we have to pay inconnection with any suchpayment.

    11. Fraudulent or False Claims If any claim or part of a claimmade by you or any insuredperson is in any respectfraudulent or if any fraudulentmeans are used to obtainpayment, including inflation orexaggeration of the claim orinvolves the submission of forgedor falsified documents, then thispolicy shall become void and anyclaim under it will be forfeited. Ifwe have already made anypayment this must be repaid to us.

    12. Special Conditions Any Special Conditions shown inyour schedule apply to allsections of this policy unlessspecifically stated otherwise.

    13. Cover When in the Hands ofthe Motor Trade Your car (or any borrowed vehiclewhere allowed by your certificateof motor insurance) must only bedriven or used as permitted by yourcertificate of motor insurance.Regardless of this, when your car isin the hands of a member of themotor trade for servicing or repair,this insurance continues to operateto protect you.

    14. Law and Jurisdiction This policy is subject to Irish Lawand to the exclusive jurisdiction ofthe Irish Courts.

    15. Insurance Act 1936All monies which become or maybecome due and payable by usunder this policy shall inaccordance with Section 93 of theInsurance Act 1936 be payableand paid in the Republic of Ireland.

    16. Stamp Duties ConsolidationAct 1999The appropriate Stamp Duty hasbeen or will be paid inaccordance with the provisions ofSection 5 of the Stamp DutiesConsolidation Act 1999.

    17. Proof of DocumentationWe have the right to request atany time proof of documents(NCT, residency, licence etc) tosupport the statement of fact.Failure to produce these may

    result in your policy beingcancelled or special conditionsbeing imposed.

    18. Driving Licence Conditions,Limits & Restrictions. Any driver who is covered by theterms of the motor certificate mustcomply with any restriction,condition and limit on their drivinglicence. This includes conditionsand restrictions on their licencerelating to the class of vehiclebeing driven.

    Any learner permit licence holderwho is covered under the terms ofthe motor certificate must complywith the requirement to beaccompanied while driving at alltimes by another driver holding afull licence.

    19. Sanctions The Insurer shall not be deemedto provide cover and the Insurershall not be liable to pay anyclaim or provide any benefithereunder to the extent that theprovision of such cover, paymentof such claim or provision of suchbenefit would expose the Insurer,its parent company or its ultimatecontrolling entity to any sanction,prohibition or restriction underUnited Nations resolutions or thetrade or economic sanctions, lawsor regulations of the EuropeanUnion or the United States ofAmerica.

    These General Exceptions apply to allsections of this policy.

    1. Use and Driving We will not pay for any loss,damage or bodily injury whilstyour car is being driven or used:a) other than for the purposes as

    specified in your certificateof motor insurance;

    b) by anyone who does not holda licence to drive your car oranyone who has held but iscurrently disqualified fromholding or obtaining such alicence;

    c) by anyone driving withoutyour permission;

    d) in an unsafe condition;e) by any person other than

    those specified in thecertificate of motorinsurance;

    f) by anyone who fails to fulfilthe terms and conditions ofthis insurance.

    2. Agreements Made by You We will not pay for any loss,damage, bodily injury, illness ordisease that arises as a result ofany written or verbal agreemententered into by you or anyinsured person unless the liabilityfor such loss, damage, bodilyinjury, illness or disease wouldhave applied had the agreementnot existed.

    3. Territorial Limits We do not cover any accident,injury, loss, damage or liabilityarising outside the Republic ofIreland, Northern Ireland, GreatBritain, Channel Islands or the Isleof Man other than as provided forin Section 8 - Foreign Travel.

    4. Deliberate Acts We will not pay for any loss,damage, bodily injury, illness ordisease arising from anydeliberate, wilful or malicious actsby you or any insured personunless required to do so underroad traffic legislation.

    5. Defective Materials We will not pay for any loss ordamage arising from faultyworkmanship, defective design orthe use of defective materialsunless required to do so underroad traffic legislation.

    6. Terrorism We will not pay for any harm ordamage to life or to property (orthe threat of such harm ordamage) by nuclear and / orchemical and / or biological and/ or radiological means resultingdirectly or indirectly from or inconnection with Terrorismregardless of any other

    contributing cause or event,except as required by the roadtraffic legislation.

    7. War Risks We will not pay for any expense,consequential loss, legal liabilityor any loss or damage to propertydirectly or indirectly caused by orarising from or contributed to by: • war, invasion or acts of

    foreign enemies; • hostilities (whether war is

    declared or not); • civil war, rebellion, revolution,

    insurrection, military orusurped power;

    • confiscation, nationalisationor requisition;

    • the order of any government,public or local authority.

    8. Sonic Bangs We will not pay for any loss ordamage caused by pressurewaves from aircraft or other aerialdevices travelling at or above thespeed of sound.

    9. Pollution & ContaminationWe will not pay for any loss ordamage directly or indirectlycaused by pollution and / orcontamination.

    10. Radioactive Contamination andExplosive Nuclear Assemblies We will not pay for any expense,consequential loss, legal liabilityor any loss or damage to propertydirectly or indirectly caused by orarising from or contributed to by: • ionising radiations or

    contamination by radioactivityfrom any nuclear fuel or fromany nuclear waste or from thecombustion of nuclear fuel;

    • the radioactive, toxic,explosive or other hazardousproperties of any explosivenuclear assembly or nuclearcomponent thereof.

    11. Earthquake We will not pay for any injury lossor damage (except under Section2 - Liability to Other People)caused by Earthquake.

    12. Riot and Civil Commotion We will not pay for any injury lossor damage (except under Section2 - Liability to Other People)caused by riot or civil commotionoccurring other than in theRepublic of Ireland, NorthernIreland, Great Britain, ChannelIslands or the Isle of Man.

    13. Airside We will not pay for any lossdamage or liability while your car

    is parked or is being driven in anypart of an airport or airfield setaside for: • moving taking off or landing

    of aircraft; • aircraft parking areas and

    associated roads and groundequipment parking,maintenance or refuellingareas.

  • What is coveredIf your car is damaged by accident oris lost or damaged by fire, lightning,explosion, theft or attempted theft.

    We will decide whether to:pay the cost of repairing any damageto your car, or• pay an amount in cash equivalent

    to the value of any loss ordamage to your car notexceeding the market value ofyour car, or

    • replace your car with one of asimilar type and in a similarcondition.

    What is not coveredIn addition to the General Exceptionson pages 25 – 27

    1. Wear and tear or your car losingvalue after or because of repairs,or for any repairs which improveyour car beyond its conditionbefore the loss or damagehappened.

    2. Damage to tyres caused by usingthe brakes or by punctures, cuts orbursts.

    3. Loss or damage to your carresulting from theft or attemptedtheft where your car has been leftunattended with the windowsunlocked , left with the keys in ornear your car or left with awindow or the roof open while

    your car was unattended. 4. Mechanical, electrical, electronic

    or computer fault, failure,malfunction or breakdown.

    5. Loss of use or other indirect loss ofany kind such as loss of earningsor travel costs.

    6. The cost of parts in excess of themanufacturer’s latest list price.

    7. Loss or damage to your car as aresult of fraud or trickery of anykind including when you areoffering your car for sale.

    8. Loss or damage due to anygovernment, public or localauthority legally taking, keeping ordestroying your car.

    9. Loss or damage caused by moth,vermin, insects or infestation or bydomestic pets.

    10. Loss or damage to your carcaused directly by pressure wavesfrom aircraft and other aerialdevices travelling at sonic orsupersonic speeds.

    11. Loss or damage arising from yourcar being filled with the wrongfuel.

    12. Loss or damage arising from theuse of substandard orcontaminated fuel, lubricants orparts.

    13. Loss or damage arising from orcontributed to by the driver’sblood/urine alcohol level beingabove the legal limit as stated inthe road traffic legislation or the

  • driver being under the influence ofdrugs (unless such drug has beenprescribed by a registered medicalpractitioner but not for treatmentof drug addiction) whilst in chargeof your car.

    14. Any gradually operating cause. 15. Loss or damage caused

    deliberately by you or by anyperson who is driving your carwith your permission.

    16. Loss of or damage to your car if itis taken or driven without yourpermission by a member of yourfamily or household unless theyare prosecuted for taking yourcar without your permission andyou fully assist with theprosecuting authorities.

    How we will deal with your claim –Section 1

    Payment of premiumIf you make a claim and you havenot paid all your premium, we maydeduct any unpaid premium from anyclaim settlement we make to you.

    RepairsIf your car is lost, stolen or damaged,we will decide whether to:• pay the cost of repairing any

    damage to your car;• pay an amount in cash equivalent

    to the value of any loss ordamage to your car not

    exceeding the market value ofyour car;

    • replace your car with one of asimilar type and in a similarcondition.

    The most we will pay will be themarket value of your car at the timeof the loss, less any excess.

    If your car belongs to somebody elseor is the subject of a hire purchase orleasing agreement we may make anypayment due under the policy to thelegal owner. Our liability under thispolicy will then be complete.

    If you cannot drive your car as aresult of damage covered under thispolicy, we will pay the reasonablecost of:• protecting your car and removing

    it to our nearest approvedrepairers; and

    • delivering your car to youraddress as shown in the scheduleafter the repairs have beencompleted.

    Repairs to your car undertaken byone of our approved repairers areguaranteed for the period that yourcar remains owned by you.

    If you choose not to use ourapproved repairer but choose analternative repairer:• this may lead to a delay in

    arranging the repair of your car;• we will not be able to provide you

    with a courtesy car or guaranteerepairs;

    • an additional excess of €250 willapply (in addition to any otherexcess shown elsewhere in thispolicy or on your policyschedule.

    New Car Replacement We will replace your car with a newone of the same make, model andspecification (provided it is stillavailable), if within 12 months of thedate of first registration as new andyou have been the first and onlyregistered owner (and anyone elsewho has an interest in your caragrees):• your car is stolen and not

    recovered; or • the cost of repair or damage

    covered by this policy exceeds60% of the list price, inclusive oftaxes, when your car was new.

    If we replace your car we will thentake ownership of your old car.

    In-car entertainment,communication and navigationalequipmentWe will pay for the loss or damage ofin-car entertainment, communication ornavigational equipment:• up to the market value of the

    equipment if it is permanently

    fitted to your car and part of themanufacturer’s standardspecification;

    • up to €500 for any otherequipment which is notpermanently fitted to your car.

    Courtesy CarIf the loss or damage to your car iscovered by this policy and you use theapproved repairer of our choice, wewill, subject to availability, provide acourtesy car while repairs to your carare being carried out. If the parts re-quired to repair your car are not im-mediately available to our approvedrepairer we reserve the right to withholdthe provision of a courtesy car until suchtime as the necessary parts are avail-able and repair work can proceed.

    Courtesy cars are usually small carswith a manual gearbox. A courtesy caris not intended to be an exact replace-ment for your car.

    All courtesy cars will have comprehen-sive cover under the terms, conditionsand endorsements of your existingpolicy for the period of the loan, re-gardless of the level of cover you havefor your car.

    Please note that a courtesy car cannotbe provided until your claim has beenaccepted and cover has been con-firmed.

    The kilometres you drive in the cour-tesy car will not be debited from youroverall kilometres

    Whilst you have the courtesy car youwill be liable to discharge any fines forparking or driving offences, tolls andany additional costs for non-paymentof these charges. You will need to pro-duce an appropriate credit or debitcard to the approved repairer in ad-vance of being supplied the courtesycar to cover these costs.

    You must return the courtesy car whenthe approved repairer or we ask youto do so or when this policy expiresand you do not renew it.

    This section does not apply where theonly damage is broken glass in thewindscreen or windows of your car.No courtesy car will be supplied inthese circumstances.

    Recovery of your car following anaccidentIf your car is not safe to drive after anaccident and we have not contactedyou already, please telephone us on01 859 9700 and we will arrange forsomeone to assist you. If your carcannot be made roadworthy within areasonable time, we will arrange totake it to our approved repairer withinthe specified policy limits.

    If you choose not to use our ap-

    proved repairer but choose an alter-native repairer:• this may lead to a delay in

    arranging the repair of your car;• we will not be able to provide

    you with a courtesy car orguarantee repairs;

    • an additional excess of €250will apply (in addition to anyother excess shown elsewhere inthis policy booklet or on yourpolicy schedule).

    Our employees and contractors willuse all reasonable care and skill whenproviding the accident recovery service. However, they can refuse toprovide services (or cancel them) if, intheir opinion, your demands are excessive, unreasonable or impracti-cal.

    Towage and Storage. The maximum limit we will pay for allfees connected with towage and stor-age of your car provided you notify uswithin 48 hours of any accident or losswill be €300 euros.

    If you notify us more than 48 hoursafter any accident or loss we will determine the amount we deem rea-sonable to pay you for fees accumu-lated.

    Excesses that applyIf your schedule shows that you have

    to pay an excess or excesses, youmust pay the first part of any claim upto the total amount of all the excessesthat apply.

    Replacement Locks If the car keys or lock transmitter ofyour car are stolen during the periodof insurance we will pay for the costof replacing: • the door locks and / or boot

    lock; • the ignition / steering lock; • the lock transmitter and central

    locking interface;provided it can be established that theidentity of the garaging address ofyour car is known to any persons inreceipt of such keys or transmitters.The maximum amount we will pay forreplacement locks is €500.

    What is coveredWe will pay all sums you or any in-sured person are legally responsiblefor: • in respect of death of or bodily

    injury to other people; • up to €30,000,000 (in total) for

    damage, inclusive of costs andexpenses, in respect of loss ordamage to property for any claimor series of claims arising fromone event;

    as the result of any accident involvingyour car or a car provided to youunder our approved repairer scheme.

    Definition of ‘insured person’For the purposes of insurance under thissection, an ‘insured person’ includesany one of the following:1. You, the policyholder;2. Any person driving or using your

    car with your permission as longas this is allowed by your currentcertificate of motor insurance;

    3. Any passenger travelling in or get-ting into or out of your car;

    4. The employer or business partnerof any person who is driving orusing your car for their businessas long as this is allowed by yourcurrent certificate of motor in-surance;

    5. The legal representative of any ofthe people named above (follow-ing the person’s death) but onlyfor the liability of the person whohas died.

    Legal Costs and Expenses We will pay the following legal costsand expenses arising from an accidentoccurring during the period of insur-ance, for which we have given ourwritten consent, to include:• solicitor’s fees for representation

    at any coroner’s inquest or fatalaccident inquiry or court ofsummary jurisdiction;

    • reasonable legal costs fordefending you against a chargeof manslaughter or causing deathby dangerous or reckless driving.

    If we agree to pay these costs underthis policy the choice andappointment of legal representationand the extent of any assistance thatwe provide will be entirely at ourdiscretion.

    Emergency treatment feesWe will pay for emergency treatmentfees as set out in the Road Trafficlegislation, following an accidentinvolving your car. If this is the onlypayment that we make, it will notaffect your no claims bonusentitlement.

    What is not coveredIn addition to the General Exceptionson pages 25 - 27

    We will not pay for:• Loss or damage caused by you or

    to your own property, or propertyfor which you are responsible, or

    Section 2 - Liability to other people

    which is in your custody orcontrol;

    • Loss or damage to your car, anyborrowed vehicle, trailer or anymechanically-propelled vehiclewhich cannot be driven and isattached to your car, or anyproperty carried in or on thattrailer or mechanically-propelledvehicle;

    • Any amount where the insuredperson is entitled to claimpayment or has cover under anyother policy;

    • Death or bodily injury to anyperson arising out of that person’semployment by an insuredperson, except where it must becovered under the road trafficlegislation;

    • Any decision of a court outside ofthe Republic of Ireland, unless theproceedings are brought orjudgement is given in a foreigncourt solely because your car wasused in that country and we hadagreed to cover it there;

    • Any amount exceeding€30,000,000, inclusive of costsand expenses, in respect of loss ordamage to property for any claimor series of claims arising fromone event.

    pay the glass replacement excessshown in your schedule.

    • Loss or damage causeddeliberately by you.

    • Loss of use of your car.• Loss or damage to sunroofs.• The cost of importing parts or

    accessories or storage costscaused by delays where parts oraccessories are not available inthe Republic of Ireland or GreatBritain.

    • If you choose not to use ourapproved glass repairer the mostwe will pay under this Section willbe €200 less any excess whichapplies.

    What is coveredIf you or your spouse are accidentallyinjured as a result of an accident occur-ring during the period of insurancewhile getting into, out of, or travellingin your car and within three months ofthe date of the accident, the injury is thesole cause of: • death; • total and permanent loss of all

    sight in one or both eyes; • total loss of one or more limbs; • total and permanent loss of use of

    one or more limbs; we will pay a lump sum of €7,500 foreach person so injured or deceased fol-lowing any one accident. If you or your spouse have any othermotor insurance with us, the maximumpayment we will make under this policyis limited to €5,000.

    What is not covered In addition to the General Exceptionson pages 25 - 27

    We will not pay for any injury or death:which is as a result of intentional injury,suicide or attempted suicide;• where the driver of your car is

    convicted of reckless or dangerousdriving;

    • to the driver of your car at thetime of the accident where, inrespect of injury, he/she is laterconvicted for driving under theinfluence of drink or drugs at thetime of the accident or, in respect

    of death, the driver is proven tohave been under the influence ofdrink or drugs at the time of theaccident;

    • to any person not complying withthe law relating to the use ofseatbelts.

    top or convertible car unless in alocked boot or locked glovecompartment;

    • Goods, samples or equipmentcarried in connection with anytrade or business;

    • Personal belongings insured underany other policy of insurance;

    • Any consequential loss of anykind; or

    • The theft or attempted theft ofpersonal belongings, if your carhas been left unattended andunlocked, left with the keys in it orleft with a window or roof open.

    What is covered

    A. Damage to your car whilsttravelling outside the territoriallimits

    Your policy operates throughout theRepublic of Ireland, Great Britain,Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man andthe Channel Islands including travel bysea between ports. The cover underyour policy is automatically extendedup to a maximum of 45 days in any oneperiod of insurance when your car isbeing driven or used in any of the fol-lowing countries: • any other country which is a

    member of the European Union; • Switzerland, Iceland, Norway and

    Croatia.

    Cover applies while your car is beingtransported (including loading and un-loading) along a recognised sea, air orrail route between any of the abovecountries provided that the duration ofthe journey does not exceed 65 hoursunder normal conditions.

    If you cannot drive your car becauseof loss or damage covered by this policy, we will pay the reasonable costof delivering it to your address in theRepublic of Ireland. We will also paythe amount of customs duty you haveto pay as a result of loss or damagecovered under this policy.

    If you need cover for a longer period

    or if you want to use your car in coun-tries not listed above you must:• Ask us to provide cover in

    advance;• Tell us the date you will be leaving

    and the date you will bereturning;

    • Tell us which countries you arevisiting; and

    • Pay any extra premium required.

    B. Legal Liability whilst travellingoutside the territorial limits

    If your car is being driven or used out-side the territorial limits and cover hasnot been arranged with us in accor-dance with Section A above, we willprovide the minimum cover required bylocal law to allow an insured personto drive or use your car in: • any country which is a member of

    the European Union; • any other country whose

    arrangements meet therequirements of and are approvedby the Commission of theEuropean Union.

    A. No Claims BonusIf you do not make a claim within theperiod of insurance the premium foryour car will be reduced in accordancewith our no-claims bonus scale appli-cable at the time.

    If a claim arises during the period ofinsurance, at the renewal date we willreduce the renewal premium in linewith our no-claims bonus scale apply-ing at the renewal date.

    If a claim arises during any period ofinsurance, we will reduce your no-claims bonus as follows:

    If two or more claims arise in any pe-riod of insurance, we will reduce yourno-claims bonus to zero at your nextrenewal.

    Your no-claims bonus will not be af-fected by:• Payment under Section 3

    Windscreen Cover;• Payments for emergency treatment

    which legislation requires us topay;

    • Payments (together with associatedcosts and expenses) which we

    later retrieve in full (although yourno claims bonus may betemporarily affected if yourrenewal date arises before wehave retrieved the payment);

    • Payments for personal belongings(Section 5) and replacement locks(as set out in Section 1).

    Introductory bonusIf we have reduced your first premiumusing an introductory or acceleratedno-claims bonus, we will remove thereduction if a claim arises during theperiod of insurance. We will do thiswhen you renew the policy.

    You cannot transfer your no-claimsbonus to anyone else and it can only beused on one car at a time.

    B. Protected No Claim BonusThis cover only applies if your sched-ule states that you have protected no-claims bonus.

    In the event of a claim under any partof this policy your no-claims bonus willnot be reduced unless you make morethan 2 claims in any 5 consecutive pe-riods of insurance.

    If 3 or more claims occur your no-claims bonus will be reduced at the nextrenewal.

    If you carry passengers for social, do-mestic and pleasure including commut-ing to and from your or yourpassengers’ usual place of work and re-ceive a contribution towards your costs,we will not regard this as constitutingthe carriage of passengers for hire orreward, or regard your car as beinghired provided that:• your car is not constructed or

    adapted to carry more than 7passengers, excluding the driver;

    • the passengers are not beingcarried in the course of a businessof carrying passengers;

    • the total contributions received forthe journey concerned do notinvolve an element of profit.

    Should you be in any doubt whetheryour car sharing arrangements arecovered by this policy you should seekconfirmation from us immediately.

    Only in the event of an emergency andprovided that the policy schedule andyour certificate of motor insurancesays so, we will also cover you, foryour liability to other people while youare driving any other private motor carwhich you do not own or have nothired or leased, as long as:

    1. the vehicle is not owned by youremployer or hired to them under ahire-purchase or lease agreement;

    2. you currently hold a Full Euro-pean Union (EU) Licence;

    3. the use of the vehicle is covered inthe certificate of motor insur-ance;

    4. cover is not provided by any otherinsurance;

    5. you are not connected in any waywith the motor or licence trade;

    6. you have the owner’s permissionto drive the vehicle;

    7. the vehicle is in a roadworthy con-dition;

    8. you still have your car and it isnot damaged beyond cost-effec-tive repair; and

    9. the vehicle driven must be of thesame size and cylinder capacity asyour car or alternatively no higherthan a 2000cc vehicle.

    This extension applies while beingdriven within the territorial limits andonly to private passenger vehicles. Itdoes not include • Vans;• Car-Vans;• Jeep-type vehicles with no seats in

    the back; or• Vans adapted to carry passengers.

If you provide PersonalInformation about another individual,you must (unless we agree otherwise)inform the individual about thecontent of this notice and our PrivacyPolicy and obtain their permission(where possible) for sharing of theirPersonal Information with us.

    The types of Personal Informationwe may collect and why –Depending on our relationship withyou, Personal Information collectedmay include: contact information,financial information and accountdetails, credit reference and scoringinformation, sensitive informationabout health or medical conditions(collected with your consent whererequired by applicable law) as well asother Personal Information providedby you or that we obtain in connectionwith our relationship with you.Personal Information may be used forthe following purposes:

Wemay search these registers to prevent,detect and investigate fraud or tovalidate your claims history or that ofany other person or property likely tobe involved in the policy or claim.Personal Information may be sharedwith prospective purchasers andpurchasers, and transferred upon asale of our company or transfer ofbusiness assets.

    International transfer - Due to theglobal nature of our business,Personal Information may betransferred to parties located in othercountries (including the United States,China, Mexico Malaysia, Philippines,Bermuda and other countries whichmay have a data protection regimewhich is different to that in yourcountry of residence). When makingthese transfers, we will take steps toensure that your Personal Informationis adequately protected andtransferred in accordance with therequirements of data protection law.

    One benefit of having a box fitted isthat we should be aware if anaccident occurs. Where possible wewill aim to contact you on the numberyou supplied to us when the policywas arranged or renewed and willtake the actions necessary to get youon your way or, if your car is not safeto be driven, we will arrange for yourcar to be taken for repair.

    However, it is important that you donot assume that we will contact you,the Gardai or any emergency servicesafter an accident has occurred. Youshould still take all necessary steps toprotect your safety and report anyaccident to us and the appropriateemergency services.

    WHAT TO DO AFTER ANACCIDENT?The following actions are required bylaw: -1. You must stop - it is a serious

    offence not to do so.2. You must give your name and

    address to anyone involved in theaccident, together with details ofyour car and your insurer.

    3. If you are unable to notify theGardai at the scene of theaccident, you must report it tothem as soon as possible, and inany case within 24 hours. Youmust show your certificate ofmotor insurance to the Gardai ifthey need to see it.

    How do you notify us of yourclaim?If we have not contacted you, firstcheck your schedule to make sureyou are covered for the loss ordamage you are claiming for.

    If you have been involved in anaccident, or your car is damaged byfire or vandalism, you should contactus and we will advise you how toproceed. The telephone number isshown at the front of this policydocument and above.

    You will be asked to do the following:1. Supply as much information as you

    can concerning the accident or in-cident. This may be by completing

  • a Motor Accident Report Form orMotor Theft Report Form, whicheveris appropriate.

    2. Send a copy of your drivinglicence, Vehicle RegistrationDocument, NCT Certificate,purchase receipts and spare keysif your car has been stolen.

    3. Send any communication youreceive in connection with yourclaim to Claims Department, AIGEurope Limited, AIG House, 30North Wall Quay, IFSC, Dublin 1,D01 R8H7. You must not admitliability or deal with anycorrespondence yourself withoutour prior consent.

    4. Report any vandalism to theGardai and obtain a crime reportnumber.

    Please note: Even if you are notcovered for damage to your car,you must still advise us of theaccident and you must confirmwhether anyone else was involvedin the accident who may havesuffered an injury or damage totheir property.

    WHAT TO DO IF YOUR CAR ISSTOLEN?

    Theft TrackingThe box fitted to your car has GPStracking functionality. If your car isstolen, please call our ClaimsHelpline on the number above.

    You will be required to report the theftto the Gardai and obtain a GardaIncident Number, to verify a theft hastaken place. You will also need toreport the incident to our claimsdepartment on 01 8599700.

    If the windscreen or windows ofyour car are damaged, you should-1. Telephone us on the number

    shown below. You will need yourcurrent certificate of motorinsurance and your statement offact and/or schedule ready toconfirm that you are covered forthis damage.

    2. You will be given advice onwhether your windscreen can berepaired rather than replaced.

    3. If it is not possible to repair yourwindscreen or if the damage is tothe windows of your car, we willinstead arrange for it to bereplaced. You will be asked to paythe glass replacement excessshown on your schedule.

    with a courtesy car or guaranteerepairs;

    • an additional excess of €250 willapply (in addition to any otherexcess shown elsewhere in thispolicy booklet or on your policyschedule).

    Our employees and contractors will useall reasonable care and skill when pro-viding the accident recovery service.However, they can refuse to provide ser-vices (or cancel them) if, in their opin-ion, your demands are excessive,unreasonable or impractical.
