Now that your family has settled into their new school routines and schedules, are you interested in coming on campus to help make copies, eat lunch with your child, or volunteer? School is off with a bang and I hope that everyone is recovering

well after Hurricane Irma Now that your family has settled into

their new school routines and schedules are you interested in

coming on campus to help make copies eat lunch with your child

or volunteer If so please make sure you go online to the Deer

Park website and fill out your Hillsborough County Volunteer

Form We have a busy few months coming up at Deer Park

Elementary with the Ranger Walk being our next big event The

Ranger Walk is a school-wide event to raise funds for our school

Itrsquos scheduled for October 13th so please mark your calendars

and see page 3 for more information

Earn our school 10 cents for every box

top collected

How to participate 1 Collect Box Tops each month 2 Place Box Tops in baggies of 50

Label each baggie with studentrsquos name teacher and grade level

3 Turn them in monthly to your teacher

Earn prizes Prizes are awarded each quarter and at the end of the school year to the student who submitted the most box tops and the class with the highest percentage of participation First Collection ndash September 29th Next Collection ndash October 27th

PTA Treat Days

PTA Treat Days are also included with your PTA Membership this year If you are a PTA Member your student will be provided a special treat during the school year on pre-determined days

Fun games inflatables food trucks amp much more

Dress Down Days are included with your PTA Membership this year If you have purchased a PTA Membership your student may enjoy uniform-free days scheduled once a month They may wear their favorite sports holiday or spirit shirt jeans or any other attire that follows Deer Park Elementary and Hillsborough County dress code

If you are looking for a way to donate your time especially if you are limited on time sign up to be on the hospitality team If you own a restaurant and are looking for a great

way to support Deer Park sign up to donate food toward an event Hospitality works alongside so many programs at Deer Park and we would love to have you working with us Sign up at deerparkptaorg by clicking Hospitality or email Jen Lingo at jenlingo77gmailcom

Ranger Walk

Friday October 13th from 8am-12pm

The Ranger Walk is a fundraiser to benefit Deer Park

Elementary with the goal of raising $60000 for new classroom computers covered walkways to the buses and a

cover for the Pre-K playground

We are replacing Boosterthon (from previous years) with a walkhellipjust a fun walk for 20 minutes for all students There

will be no laps to count - flat donations only

There will be classroom amp schoolwide incentives with an

emphasis on school spirit versus toys amp prizes

Donations begin - September 25th Pep Rally - October 2nd

100 of proceeds remain at Deer Park Questions waysandmeansdeerparkptaorg

Membership in the PTA also includes Dress Down Days and PTA sponsored Treat Days throughout the year We will NOT be

accepting dollars for dress down days or treat days in the courtyard this year The only way to participate in these events is

through your membership Membership forms can be filled out online through the Deer Park

form (last page) and turn it into the front office Classes with 100 membership by August 31st will

receive a PTA sponsored popsicle party

Come join us Friday September 22nd for a Deer Park skate

party complete with music games and fun at Skate World (7510 Paula Drive Tampa FL 33615) The party will be from 6-8pm

Admission is $6 including skate rental (a portion of the proceeds will benefit Deer Park PTA programs) Stay for free for the following skate session
