Peters St Dances of Congo Square - Learn traditional African dance with accompaniment from master percussionist Luther Gray and facilitated by Jazz Ranger Jim. 2:00-3:00 pm Dutch Alley - 916 N. Peters St Kids are invited to bring their own instruments and join members of the Red Hot Brass Band as well as a few special musical guests for our Music for All Ages workshop. This program, started by Ranger Bruce Barnes, seeks to pass along brass traditions the New Orleans way and is now led by Ranger Bud Holmes. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ September 5 Tuesday 12:00-1:00 pm Dutch Alley - 916 N. Peters Street Piano virtuoso Richard “Piano” Scott performs an hour of traditional New Orleans jazz and its influences. 2:00-3:00 pm NOJM Ranger Matt Hampsey leads the Down on Their Luck Orchestra in a program demonstrating musical elements that helped nurture New Orleans’ role as the birthplace of jazz.
