we put forth. We have a
new Scrapbook club, we
have newly formed Stitch-N
-Rip, as well as Jr. Home-
makers. We also have our
new sewing days on the
second Monday of each
month to continue to sew
the Hats For Hope and our
Build-A-Bed projects, as
well as future sewing pro-
jects.
Happy September! Fall is
quickly approaching! I am
sure we are all ready for
this hot weather to break
and are excited about fall
activities. Fall brings foot-
ball for Bath County High
School, as well as UK! It is
also a time where leaves
are starting to fall. We
should have beautiful
sights to see this year, as
there has been a ton of
foliage.
Last month we had our
first Bath County Home-
maker Leadership Day
(since I’ve been here).
Thank you to those clubs
that sent someone to rep-
resent you! We had a great
time discussing where we
would like to see our coun-
ty organization going.
Also, we had our first Lick-
ing River Area meeting last
month. That was an excit-
ing day of great presenta-
tions and fellowshipping
with other Homemakers
and agents. We had 12
homemakers participating
from our county! Go Bath
County! We brought the
most homemakers (I be-
lieve, but don’t quote me
☺) Way to show up and
show out.
Thanks for your continued
dedication to Bath County
Homemakers. Thanks to all
of you who joined me for
the appreciation tea. It is
specifically for you and to
just say I appreciate all of
your support, guidance,
and encouragement.
As we start a new Home-
maker year, lets support
each other in the efforts
Family and Consumer Sciences Extension
A Message From Your President!
Happy September, fellow
Homemakers! I hope you
all are enjoying the cooler
weather in the mornings
and are anticipating the
lovely events of impending
fall!
I am so excited to continue
on in a new Homemaker
year and I hope you all are
as well. Please join the
many events we have go-
ing on as Homemakers.
The annual Licking River
Area meeting is going to be
October 28 in Bracken
County! This is sure to be a
great meeting and fellow-
ship with other homemak-
ers and agents from our
area.
We have done great work
with the Hats for Hope and
I am looking forward to
teaching this to our Licking
River associates at the
Licking River Skills Day on
October 18 in Fleming
County. Please come and
support fellow Homemak-
ers, agents, and Bath
County people who are
teaching this day. It is al-
ways a great day! Also, our
next Homemaker meeting
will be October 17 at 5:30
at the extension office.
Have a great September
and I hope to see you
soon!

If you have any suggestions or ideas on future programs, please
call and let us know. We are here to better serve our community
and we will continue to do our best in that area. Also, if you feel
like any of our classes or activities would be better if we had
them at varying times, please let me know. I know some people
are hesitant about attending programs at night or maybe during
the day for various reasons. I am flexible in offering programs.
I am sure you have noticed that I have included a calendar of
monthly events. If your club has events that you’d like the coun-
ty to participate in, please call into the office by the last week of
the month to have it included in the newsletter. That would be a
great help and a way for everyone to get together.
I am attending my first National Extension Association for Fami-
ly and Consumer Sciences meeting in Big Sky, Montana! I have
heard that this is a great opportunity to converse with FCS
agents from across the nation and to gather great ideas for pro-
grams, as well as to celebrate the accomplishments of Ken-
tucky Extension on the national level. Because of this meeting, I
will be gone the third week of September. If you need anything,
please just call Gary or Terrence and I am sure they can help you
until I return.
Have a wonderful September and I hope to see you soon!
