ONCOURSE Connections Returns to Singapore

September 2015, Issue Twenty Three

View from BostonGreetings across the globe!

As the summer draws to a close, it’s exciting to look back on this year and observe how the Veson Nautical community has grown. Since January, we have welcomed 15 new clients to the IMOS and Veslink user base. In that same period, Veson increased the size of our global client services organization by 23%.

So far this year, our Product team has delivered 24 software releases to IMOS and Veslink clients. Critical new functionality has included enhanced support for ECA compliance, advanced tracking of complex contract terms, as well as weather data visualization for client fleet maps.

This November 4th, we are thrilled to host our next ONCOURSE Connections client conference in Singapore. The one-day program is not to be missed and will feature keynote presentations, sessions on IMOS and Veslink best practices, and exclusive insight into the Veson Nautical product vision. The daytime conference and evening reception (open to APAC shipping community) will be held at the elegant ParkRoyal on Pickering in Singapore.

In the meantime, the Veson team looks forward to participating in key shipping events this October. At the Danish Shipping and Ship Management Conferences in Copenhagen, Veson Nautical’s Greg Wilkins, Vice President, Global Commercial Solutions will present on “Data Convergence to Insight.” Continuing on to SHIPPINGInsight in Stamford, CT, USA, Greg will represent Veson on the conference “Shipping Intelligence” panel.

Veslink Optimum Takes Maritime Data Collection, Analysis, and Sharing to the Next Level

We hope to see you at an upcoming event this fall, and as always best wishes for your continued success this year.

Cheers,

John VesonCo-President

Tips & Tricks

Tip #1: Test Complex Rules in IMOS Freight ContractsWith Advanced Pricing, you can price cargo contracts using rules you configure with relevant variables, conditions, and results. Using the Advanced Pricing Simulator, you can evaluate the impact of changes to your contract or related voyage on the pricing results. Enter hypothetical scenarios in the simulator and then run the Advanced Pricing Rules Report to see how they affect your contract. Requires IMOS 7.8.

Tip #2: Automatically Apply Standard Expenses in IMOS OperationsYou can configure Standard Expenses based on a number of conditions for the voyage or for the Port, Berth, and Cargo. When a voyage or Voyage Estimate meets these requirements, Standard Expenses are automatically applied in IMOS. Requires IMOS 7.8.

Tip #3: Use the Veslink Form Designer to Collect Any Type of Voyage DataWith the Veslink Form Designer, you can gather, share, and analyze data that is most meaningful to your business. Easily design custom forms from scratch and configure fields and layout. You can even create new field types in the Data Dictionary. Requires Veslink Optimum.

“With IMOS and Veslink, our organization has been able to grow its fleet more than 30% without increasing headcount.”

— Business Analyst, client since 2009

In June 2015, Veson Nautical announced Veslink Optimum, a premium tier subscription for Veslink. Veslink Optimum fuels data-driven voyage decisions with a flexible Form Designer, real time weather map layers, and streamlined agent reporting. For Veslink users, this means:

• Limitless data collection: New Optimum tools truly place shipping companies in the driver’s seat when it comes to maritime analysis. For example, some Veslink clients are using the Form Designer to gather highly-specific data about their business’ environmental impact.

• Rapid, web-based analysis and visualization: New Performance Reporting in Veslink enables users to view built-in or custom reports and charts to quickly analyze mission-critical data as it comes in. This feature is available to both Veslink Essential and Veslink Optimum subscribers.
