The Blooming Basket: A Chateau Gardens Newsletter

First, I want to take this opportunity to thank the residents, staff and families for the warm welcome and kind words of encouragement. I am very excited to be a apart of the Chateau Valley Center family and look forward to getting to know everyone as the days continue. Currently I am busy learning all I can about the business, the residents and the Chateau-way so I can carry on both the tradition and level of service you have all grown to appreciate. These first several weeks are a hit and miss for meetings and trainings, but I will be venturing into the dining room at meal times or walking around the community to say “hello” so I can start getting to know all of you. Just some brief fun-notes about me:

I was born and raised in Fairbanks, AK where I graduated from college with a Bachelors of Arts in Education

I absolutely LOVE sports and played volleyball and badminton competitively for years.

My football team is the Green Bay Packers..but, yes, I will TRY to cheer on the Seahawks...no promises.

Casey and Franklin are my ‘4-legged” kids and RULE my world. They are both about 7 years old. Casey is a Daschund/Chihuahua mix and Franklin is a Daschund/Jack Russel. I am definitely an animal lover and have volunteered for a number of rescues over the years.

My family all moved from Alaska to Arizona back in the late 80’s and they are still melting away down in the desert. I am quite happy to have the rain and greenery of the Pacific Northwest!

I love to cook but I always make enough for an army! My neighbors are now my biggest fans because I pass around the leftovers to them. They even leave me “suggestion” notes on my door so I can accommodate their cravings.
