Report Card 2013

The District of Kent reserves the right to cancel any fi tness class based on low attendance and instructor availability. Changes due to illness, emergencies and inclement weather will be posted on the fi tness room door and every effort will be made to notify all participants.

Teen Weight Room OrientationsIf you are between 13 and 15 years of age, you may access the Weight room upon completion of a teen weight training orientation. In addition to the Weight room orientation, teens must present a completed parental consent form and attend a session with the instructor regarding weight training and developing bones and muscles. Teen weight training orientations are $6 and are scheduled in conjunction with the Weight Room orientation. Please ask for the parental consent form at the time of booking.

Weight Room OrientationWe offer an instructor led orientation to our Weight Room on an as needed basis. If you are new to fi tness, this is an excellent opportunity to learn about Weight room etiquette and how each piece of equipment should be used to maximize your efforts in the gym. These one hour orientations are free with the purchase of a 3, 6 or 12 month pass or Drop in Fees apply. If you would like to take part in an orientation, please leave your name and contact information at the front counter with your availability.

FITNESS CONTINUED

Leisure activities and parks are essential to the holistic development of children and youth. They learn motor skills (physical) through play and sport

plus gain physical fitness and enhance overall health/wellbeing.

Program refunds are administered minus 20% of the program registration fee providing minimum numbers have been met. Notifi cation of withdrawal must be given prior to the second class to avoid forfeiture of the entire fee. There will be no administrative charge if the program is cancelled by the District of Kent. Refunds will be returned by the same transaction process they were received. Please note that debit transactions will be returned by cheque through the mail if the payer cannot return to the Fitness / Activity Centre. Individual program supply costs vary and are independent of this policy. If you fall ill or become injured during the course of the program you must submit a doctor’s written recommendation to receive a prorated refund.

DON’T WAIT - SIGN UP NOW!Sometimes awesome courses are canceled when everyone waits until the last minute to register. In order to allow suffi cient time for program preparation, the staff must make a decision usually 3 days prior to the program start time as to whether there is suffi cient enrollment to run the program. Register early to avoid disappointing yourself and others.

If the program you are interested in is full, please ask to be placed on the waitlist. If possible, we will try to arrange an additional class. If another class cannot be scheduled during the season, the waitlist becomes a planning tool for our staff for future programming. The waitlist system is not an automatic reservation for upcoming programs. If you see a program that you were waitlisted for in a previous season, the onus is on you to register again.

Applicable taxes will be applied to all registered programs, drop in fees and membership passes.

The District of Kent recognizes families. Family rate pays for one or both parents/guardians whether related or not and to a maximum of fi ve children in the same family age 19 years or under.

Looking for your favourite t-shirt, shoes, water bottle or cell phone? It is amazing what is left behind in our facilities. If you have misplaced an item, please ask our staff to look for it in the Lost and Found.
