A Note from Pastor Phillips:

Thank you for coming to worship with us today. If you are first-time visitor, I would sure like the opportunity to meet you and wel-come you personally. Because I believe in a Sovereign God, I don’t be-lieve anything happens by chance. I believe you were brought here today for a purpose. I would love to help you discover that purpose, and to see if there is any way we as a church can bless and minister to you and your family. Please stop by the Resource Center after the service so I can shake your hand. I’d sure count it a privilege. Pastor Harold

CHILDREN’S CHOIRS: Salt Shakers & Little Lights resume this Wednesday, Sept. 5. Little Lights meet in room 134, and Salt Shakers meet in room 117. Both choirs begin at 5:45 p.m.

If you wish to dedicate your child and want to participate in the slide show presentation, please send four to five digital photos to Lauree at [email protected] no later than Sunday, September 23. Include the child’s date of birth, full name and the names of his/her parents. If you have questions, call the church office. Thank you.

PURSE AUCTION NEEDS DONATIONS: The Candy Cane Kids Ministry purse auction is approaching quickly. Proceeds from the auction are used to provide Christmas gifts and Bibles to un-derprivileged children in our area. To donate a new or like-new purse or any small gifts/gift cards to be used to stuff the purses, please see Alice Stewart. Thank you!

2019 BUDGET REQUESTS: All ministry leaders should sub-mit a request for the amount they need to fulfill their ministry in 2019. The deadline to submit budget requests is Sunday, Sep-tember 30. Request/Proposal MUST include: 1) Ministry mission statement, 2) Purpose of ministry, and 3) Estimated budget needs. If there is any way that our church can as-sist you or your family, please contact the office at 410-378-4476.

We pray that you have been blessed, and have found that coming to Pleasant View

Pleasant View Baptist Church is a smoke-free campus. We encourage you to re-frain from smoking while on the premis-es. If you must smoke while here, please do so in your car. If you have any ques-tions, please ask one of our Pastors.

The state missions offering of the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware has helped start & strengthen 500+ churches across Maryland, Delaware and beyond.

100% of the funds are reinvested in churches like ours for local and global mission impact.

The bottom line is that we are united together to love our neighbors and share Christ in our region.

What is the Maryland/Delaware State Missions Offering?

The annual Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware State Missions Offering sustains ministries not funded through the Cooperative Program

IT is a way for our church to participate in the Great Commission strategy specifically for this region

A way to start more churches and reach more people for Christ

A way to change lives and to develop tomorrow’s leaders

Our statewide challenge goal this year is $150,000.

September 9-16 is a week set aside for prayer for this effort. Prayer guides are available in the lobby to help us unite in prayer.

If you would like to participate by donating to the campaign, please place your gift in the offering plate with “MD/DE State Missions” in the memo area. Designated envelopes are located in the pews. Prayer guides are available at the Welcome Center. Please help yourself to one.

See You at the Pole

Kids AND Parents: Mark your calendars for Wednes-

day, September 26 and plan to participate at a See You

at the Pole event at a local school or here at the church

for homeschooling families. Let’s join in prayer for our

students and teachers to be filled to overflowing with the

Spirit of God.

STUDENTS:

Prepare for Your See You at the Pole Gathering

You can freely gather for prayer before school, but it's

best to let your school administration know about See

You at the Pole™.

See You at the Pole™ is a student-led event. That means

you! Strong student leadership is crucial to the success

of your event. Your youth pastor can support you, your

parents can pray for you, but you need to take charge

and take part in See You at the Pole™.

The study will begin Monday, September 10 and will run from 6 to 8 p.m. in room 114.

Please sign up on the ladies’ ministry bulletin board if you plan to attend.

heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you"

Loving Our Neighbors

Mark your calendars and plan to help us canvas the neighborhoods near the church! We will be giving out free batteries for smoke detectors to the com-munity residents, and asking if there is anything for which we can pray. We will meet at 8 a.m. at the church Saturday, September 15 and then head out to love our neighbors!

8

9

Mark your calendars and save Sunday, September 23 for the annual PVBC Family Picnic!

We will meet immediately following the 10:30 worship service to enjoy some food, fun and fellowship! Please plan to bring enough sides, desserts and drinks to share with your family +8 guests, so that any vis-itors who attend that morning may join us and get plenty to eat.

Come on out and join us for some yummy food and good, clean fun!

We will have a corn hole competition.

We may have a horseshoe competition if someone steps forward and is willing to set it up and manage the event.
