Throughout his long journey, Odysseus had many
grueling experiences. He met people, creatures and characters that hindered
him and/or aided him.
![Page 44: SEPTEMBER 16, 2009](https://reader030.vdocuments.mx/reader030/viewer/2022013011/56812bc8550346895d9016fc/html5/thumbnails/44.jpg)
His is a truly great story. The wonderful thing about it, though, is that, if we look close enough, we can see that Odysseus’s journey is
every human being’s journey.
![Page 45: SEPTEMBER 16, 2009](https://reader030.vdocuments.mx/reader030/viewer/2022013011/56812bc8550346895d9016fc/html5/thumbnails/45.jpg)
We have our own personal versions of the Lotus-eaters,

However, there are also those like Aeolus, Nausicaa, Teiresias, Athena, Ino,
Eumaues and Eurcleia – people/events that helped
shape us and make us grow into better people.

We also have our own personal Ithaca – that
place, position or state that gives us true happiness,
makes us feel fulfillment, or makes us feel at home.
