Prayer of Confession God of kindness and compassion, in your son Jesus

you have shown us what love is. He gave his life for us – but he also loved in simple ways. He blessed children, touched the outcasts, and gave bread to the hungry crowd. We confess that in our hurry our words are often terse and sharp. In our fatigue, we tend to think only of ourselves. Forgive us and make us aware of the power that comes with a simple act of kindness. Fill us with your Spirit, causing your kindness to mark our lives in the ordinary moments of the coming week. Begin this work in us now, as we continue our confession in silence . . .

Assurance of God’s Forgiveness *Congregational Response Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing

**Life of the Congregation

Pastoral Prayer and the Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
