This will be at time of fellowship, music and an oppor-

tunity to hear from three young Christians who have

committed their lives to the work of the Lord:

♦ Suan Sonna, son of Mang Sonna, Director of Beth-

el Neighborhood Center, who spoke at FBC in July.

♦ Aline Silva-Schreiner, a recent graduate of Central

Seminary and our Martha Stearns Marshall speaker in

2014

FBC Book Club

Sept. 17

Our September selection is

A Wrinkle in Time by Made-

leine L’Engle . This science

fiction book is about a young

girl’s quest for her scientist father after he has gone missing

while working on a government project. The meeting will

be on Thursday, September 17 at 7:00 pm at Lee and Car-

olyn Carlson’s new home, 4705 Balmoral. Copies of the

book are available at the Lawrence Public Library and the

University of Kansas libraries.

The First Baptist Book club reads a wide variety of works

including fiction, non-fiction, biographies, memoirs, and

poetry. Members suggest the books to be read. If you love

books, please join us! Church Yard Work Day

We will be cleaning up tree limbs, shrubs, weeds, and

accomplishing other beautifying projects around the

church yard on Saturday, Sept. 19. Please join us if you

can between 8 a.m. and noon. Bring your rakes, hedge

trimmers, and wheel barrows if you have them.
