Meeting of Board of Studies of Department of Electronics and Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering has been conducted on 16th September 2013. The meeting was organized to discuss the insight of scheme and syllabus of autonomy batch. The new scheme and syllabus will be applicable for coming autonomy batch. Dr. A.G. Keskar, Professor from VNIT, Dr. Haridas, Mr. Rajesh Kondawar were present. The meeting was headed by BoS chairman Dr. A.Y. Deshmukh. Dr. S.S. Dorle, Dr. M.M. Khanapurkar, Dr. D.V. Padole, Dr. S.S. Salankar, Prof. S. S. Wankhede Prof. S.D. Giripunje attended the meeting.
RRC meeting held for M Tech CAD/CAM
The Department of Mechanical Engineering has
organized the RRC meeting for M Tech CAD/CAM projects on Saturday, 31/08/2013. Dr. P. M. Padole, Professor Mechanical Engineering Department, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (V.N.I.T) Nagpur was an expert for finalizing the titles and topics of III semester M Tech CAD/CAM. All the sixteen titles were discussed during the meeting and few modifications were done in some
titles. The expert praised for selecting the problems for the M.Tech projects and also suggested the use of higher end software for the evaluation of the project work. All the project guides were also present during the discussion. Dr. S. B. Jaju, coordinator, M Tech CAD/CAM, Dr. D. J. Tidke, Dr. R. N. Baxi, Prof. V. S. Khangar and Laukik Raut were present during the meeting.
RRC meeting held for M Tech HPE
The Department of Mechanical Engineering has organized the RRC meeting for M Tech Heat Power Engineering (HPE) projects on 02 Sep 2013 for the finalization of the synopsis of III Semester students. Dr S.B.Thombre, Professor Mechanical Engineering Department, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (V.N.I.T) Nagpur was appointed as the external expert member. Dr S.B.Thombre suggested some points related to the M.Tech project and encourage the use of the modern simulation software for the evaluation of the experimental results. The committee members including Dr. S.B.Jaju, Dean (R & D), Dr. V.M.Kriplani, Dr.D.V.Padole and Dr. P.V.Walke (Head of Department), Dr. U.S.Wankhede (Dean- PG Programmes) along with the co-ordinator Prof. V.W.Khond were present.

National Board of Accreditation (NBA) New Delhi, in collaboration with G. H. RAISONI COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, NAGPUR (An Autonomous Institute under UGC Act 1956, NBA Accredited & NAAC Accredited with “A” grade) organized workshop on Outcomes Based Accreditation Process & Parameters in two phases. Phase I was organized on 13 Sept 2013 and Phase 2 from 27-29 Sept. 2013.
In this workshop, the features of new Outcome Based Accreditation have been discussed with the stakeholders. They informed about various dimensions, requirements, process and parameters of Outcome Based Accreditation of their programmes as per the new system. This Workshop was attended by stakeholders, Directors, Principals & senior faculty members from different institutions & assisted with new changes in accreditation procedure.In the First phase on 13 Sept 2013, workshop was executed as per schedule from NBA.
Workshop was inaugurated in hands of Dr. Preeti Bajaj, Director, G. H. RAISONI COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, NAGPUR, Dr. S.B. Jaju, NBA resource person, Dean R&D, Professor, Mechanical
Engineering, G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering. Participants were Directors, Principals & senior faculty members from different institutions.
Workshop was started by webinar from NBA. Participant found very fruitful session be Dr. A. Koteshwer Rao and asked questions through chat.Post lunch session was conducted by Dr. S.B. Jaju and discussed vision, Mission, PEO, PO and course outcomes. He conducted interactive session and solved queries of participants. Phase 2 was organized from 27-29 September 2013. 26 participants have attended . Workshop was executed as per schedule given by NBA. Resource persons were Dr. P.R. Bajaj and Dr. S.B. Jaju. Participants were divided in two groups. Worshop was organized successfully. Dr. L.G Malik and organizing team coordinated this activity.

Windows Azure” at GHRCE, Nagpur on dated 23rd and 24th September 2013.
Short Term Program on “Microsoft Windows Azure” by Microsoft Corporation was organized at GHRCE Computer Science and Engineering department.The program mainly focuses on Developing and deploying Cloud application on Microsoft Cloud. Microsoft Corporation provides free Azure accounts to every student for creating and deploying their application.

“Mixed Domain Oscilloscope” by Techtronics India Pvt Ltd.
Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering GHRCE, Nagpur organized a demonstration Seminar on newly launched Mixed Domain Oscilloscope (MDO) of Techtronics India ltd Delhi for the MTech Students and faculties of GHRCE. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Rajesh Konadawar Director, EDAS Technology; he focused on the recent trends in the field of communication for research & Development.
The faculties of ETC, ETRX & CSE department with MTech Students of Communication Engineering were present for this seminar.
Demonstration of PCB Prototyping Machine was conducted in GHRCE,
NagpurDemonstration of PCB Prototyping Machine has
been conducted at Department of Electronics on 2nd
September 2013. The demo was organized to know about advancement in the Prototyping Machine which provides very beautiful fine and accuracy cutting finish on the prototype PCB. It can produce single, double sided, multilayer and high-density boards rapidly. The demo was given by Mr. Vikas Khare from MTIS Electronics. Dr. S. S. Dorle Head of Department and faculty from ElectronicsDepartment were present. Students of M-Tech VLSI and Electronics were also present.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, had organized a guest lecture on New Product Development. Mr. G. Suresh GM (R&D), M&M with vast experience of about 34 years has been invited for the guest lecture. He shared, Mahindra Research valley focuses on computer aided engineering and design. An in-house integrated approach incorporating all the details and specifics
of benchmarking, aesthetics, style feasibility, concepts, packaging, design & development, virtual validation, prototyping and testing are carried out that effectively reduces manufacturing trials. He discussed about integration of different departments such as marketing, R&D, manufacturing, Q.A. and development of new product starting from design to manufacturing of the product, explaining its various aspects in industry. He further explained NPDI the process of defining a product strategy within a portfolio of technologies and markets; managing projects and gathering requirements; developing the product and sourcing materials and components from suppliers; and managing the ramp-up to production – all in compliance with requirements of product, with good example of Dhruv star tractor -New Development process. Later on he talked about the quality assurance role in M & m company, related with PPAP (Product part approval process), QFD (Quality function deployment, house of life)

Students qualify for BAJA-2014
The Department of Mechanical Engineering students had participated in SAE organized Virtual BAJA Competition (Car making Competition of SAE INDIA ) at SVCE Bangalore on 26th July
2013 to 28th July 2013. The student of Mechanical Dept. have represented SAE collegiate club GHRCE Nagpur by the name of AXIOM in this competition. The team members were Roshan Bawankar Pratik Jain , Veenit Ghike , Prakash Ghosh , Sahil Shaikh, Harshkumar Sharma, Reshabh Morey for this event. In this event 327 teams of reputed college across India participated out of them 125 team were qualify for the final BAJA-2014 , which will be held at NTRIP track SEZ Prithampur, Dist Indore,(M.P) in Feb-2014. In this highly prestigious car making competition in automobile sector , our team secured 19th rank across India. The team members are confident to fabricate their design car to represent GHRCE team in this event

Department of Information Technology, G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering had organized an Industrial Visit at IT-NetworkZ, Nagpur on 2nd, 3rd
and 4th of Sept. 2013 in the batch of 30 students. It was organized by Prof. G. S. Khekare under the
guidance of Prof. S. A. Chhabria, Head ofdepartment, Information Technology.
Ms. Hemlata Jawanjan , Software trainer and developer – IT NetworkZ, gave the detail about the company, their software products, technologies on which they work criteria for placements in software companies. She made the students aware of various applications in .NET in today’s environment. The session aimed at lending insight to students into the field of dot net application developer.
Mr. Prabuddha, Software trainer and developer –IT NetworkZ, in his lecture explained about the core concepts of networking, its advantages and policies. The students found it very interesting and informative. They also enlightened students with the information related to the various opportunities in Software industries and future trend in IT field.
There were nearly 150 students and 4 staff members present for visit of III and V Semester. Faculty members, Prof. G. S. Khekare, Prof. S.S. Wazalwar . Prof. A. S. Nagdive and Prof. P.R. Maidamwar along with student coordinators left no stone unturned to make this event a grant success.
Visit to NECO Heavy Engineering and Casting Ltd
The department of Mechanical Engineering of G.H.Raisoni College of Engineering Nagpur has organized Industrial Visit to “Neco Heavy Engineering & casting ltd, MIDC, Nagpur”, for students of Fifth semester, Sec-A on 17th Aug, 2013.
Mr. Amlesh and Mr.Mohonty, officials of Neco Heavy Engineering & casting ltd given brief information about the overall functioning of various
departments including Pattern making, Moulding, Induction Moulding, Cupola Furnace , & Safety practices performed in plant. Overall 65 students along with three faculty members Prof.D. J. Tidke, Prof. G.P.Tiwari and Prof. Sneha. V. Pawade, visited the industry for studying the practical application of the subject.

Visit to Bajaj Steel Industries Ltd
The Department of Mechanical Engineering of G.H.Raisoni College of Engineering Nagpur has organized Industrial Visit to “Bajaj Steel Industry, Imamwada, Nagpur”, for students of Fifth semester section B and C, on 3rd Aug, 2013.
Mr. Pravin Talmale, Plant incharge, briefed the students about various sections such as material section, grinding, machining, and bearing assembly shops. The industry deals in agro based equipment such as Ginning machines. The industry is the largest manufacturer and exporter of cotton ginning machine in India. Some of its products are Double Roller Ginning machine, Jumbo, and Special purpose ginning machine. The students studied the entire processing of cotton. The students also visited the Quality Assurance section, where the quality of the various machines is being assessed. The total 140 students along with Prof.A.S.Chaudhary, Prof.K.S.Rambhad, and Prof.S.Kumbhalkar visited the industry.

I Semester M. Tech. Communication Engineering students of ETC Department, GHRCE NagpurVisited Regional Telecom Training Centre (RTTC) BSNL Nagpur on 4th September 2013. Around 22 students of I Semester, M. Tech Communication along with two faculties Coordinator Prof. A. R. Deshmukh & Prof. S. R. Visit to Parle-G factory, Umrer road, Nagpur
Industrial visit for III Semester UG students of Electronics and Telecommunication Department, GHRCE Nagpur was arranged on 7th September 2013 to Parle-G factory, Umrer road, Nagpur. Around 167 students of III Semester along with faculty members Prof. A. S. Titarmare, Prof. P. H. Chandenkhede, Prof. K. D. Bondre, Prof. P. P. Moon, Prof, J. Sonwane, Prof. N. Barapatre and Prof. R. T. Bankar visited the factory. The Purpose of the visit was to make the students aware of
production process, management structure, factory layout etc. The students also observed the entire process of Biscuit making. A meeting was arranged for the students with Mr. Ajay Petkar (HR Incharge). Mr. Petkar explained in detail to the students the biscuit making process.--------------------------------------------------------------
Visit to Doordarshan Kendra, Seminary Hills, Nagpur
Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, GHRCE Nagpur organized an industrial visit to Doordarshan Kendra, Seminary Hills, Nagpur for the students of V Semester on 21st
September 2013. Doordarshan is an Indian public service broadcaster, a division of Prasar Bharati. It is one of the largest broadcasting organizations in India in terms of the infrastructure of studios and transmitters. The Doordarshan provides television, radio, online and mobile services throughout metropolitan and regional India, as well as overseas through the Indian Network and Radio India. Mr. S. M. Dekate, Assistant Engineer, Doordarshan Kendra, Nagpur, Mr. Pravin Meshram, JE, Doordarshan Kendra, Nagpur & Mr. Kutemate JE, Doordarshan Kendra, Nagpur conducted different sessions (Studio, Production Control Room, Transmission Unit & Antennas Section). Prof. S.K. Tadse, Prof. S. M. Choudhary, Prof. A. S. Titarmare, Prof. P. S. Hedaoo & Prof. D. P. Choudhary were accompanied with the students. About 115 students took part in visit & appreciated the efforts identify by coordinator & Doordarshan authority.
