2017 marks a huge mile stone in TAG’s history, 50 years with John Deere. In 1966 Alexander and Duncan, an established agricultural and hardware supplier were appointed as one of the five original John Deere dealers. In our first year with John Deere we sold 4 tractors 2 model 214 balers as well as Lundell Forage Harvester and corn drills.

Since these early beginnings then we’ve seen huge changes in both our business and the industry. In the 1960’s the average tractor was just 53hp, today it has grown to over 160hp, and advanced technologies not even dreamt of in the 1960’s such are AutoTrac automatic guidance and now commonplace.

One thing that hasn’t changed is a continued drive for performance, today’s large arable customers looking for maximum daily output are well catered for with John Deere’s current line-up. The range topping 8400R is available in either four wheel drive or the RT tracked

version. With up to 450hp from it’s 9.0 litre turbocharged engine, output and field performance is phenomenal. Combine this with best in class total fluid consumption (Diesel & DEF), advanced technology, reliability and residual value and the 8400R is a clear winner as a high performance heavy draft tractor.
