You must schedule an appointment to apply. All appointments will be scheduled on

You must be 60 years of age by July 1st, be a Town of Bourne Resident, own the property subject to tax credit and it must be your primary residence to participate. You may notice we have a new look!

During this pandemic we have realized that the Council on Aging is more than just a building, and

we have had to reach out to our older adult community in new ways by pivoting in the way we offer

services and programs, as you will find in this issue. We changed the look so the newsletter could

reflect that. Bourne is made up of several villages and divided by a canal. By changing the name to

the “The Bridge” we wanted to have a name that inspires us as a community, „bridging” the

generations, “bridging” the villages of Bourne, “bridging” the Friends of the BCOA and the COA.

We also added a new logo with the iconic Train Bridge to bring our vision to life. There is a new

staff at the COA , new Advisory Board of Directors and a new President of the Friends of BCOA.

It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new COA.

Thanks to a generous donation from Eastern Bank, the COA will have a limited

amount of laptops to assist seniors with learning how to navigate

the world of technology.

During the Pandemic we have realized how important it is to stay connected while staying home and staying safe. With this program you will receive your FREE laptop along with a

complimentary one on one instruction. We will show you how to purchase your groceries online, navigate important websites such as AARP, the Town of Bourne and Mass.gov, and

how to Zoom with family and friends. Internet service is required.

THE PROGRAM BEGINS IN NOVEMBER. If you would like more information

or to fill out an application, please contact Kari Leighton at 508-759-0600 ext. 5227.
