The position would suit someone that wants to become a key part of a small long established stable company, and help maintain our market leading position in our current product areas 1. Personal qualities • Should possess the energy and drive to get involved in complex technologies of a mission critical nature. • Should have an exploratory and self-learning mind-set, not needing hand-holding or spoon-feeding. • Should have an aptitude for learning and mastering new technologies as required. • Should be keen to provide the very best support of the existing system for the business and its customers. • Should develop vision and ideas for improving the system in the future. 2. Technical skills 2.1 Primary These skills or similar should ideally already be possessed in order to get quickly up to speed on the systems. • Asterisk telephony platform • Linux system administration and system building • IP Networking • C programming • SQL database programming • PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript programming 2.2 Secondary These additional skills would be useful, but could be learned as required. • Perl programming • Shell scripting • Virtual Machine Technology • App Development 3. Job requirements • Become familiar with: o the overall system architecture o the system administration of multiple telephony based products o the PHP Web Admin interface and Data Transfer programs • To monitor the operation of the bridges, including the daily email reports. • To respond to support issues and diagnose potential problems reported by customers. • To fix bugs that may be discovered in the system. • To conceive of improvements to the system and implement them.
