THANK YOU’s
I know that November is the traditional time for giving thanks and showing
appreciation and gratitude but
…………...and this is a really big BUT! Now is when I need to let everyone know how
truly grateful Julie, Carol and I are for everyone who has volunteered or donated to our center. We have so many people
who give so much of themselves and their time that I feel like it would get lost in the Holiday season between Thanksgiving and
the New Year.
Between the Holiday Bazaar and the
Kiwanis Lunch we are so blessed to have as many people help out as we do! Plus we
have so businesses and people who donate to the raffle in the Bazaar that I would like to publicly recognize them all so that we
can patronize them and give them our business. So I am going to try and list eve-
ryone who has volunteered in these two
events but please do not be offended if I omit your name…………..trust me, I am
bug-nuts crazy during this time and I was just coming off a medical so my brain may not have been working as well as it should
have and yeah, I know, that may be par for the course!! ;) So THANK YOU to:
Bob Andrews, Joan Borik, Donna Cook, Carol Gabriel, Jerry Hacke, Deb & Gary
Kaiser, Jim Kolad, Noreen & Ted
Lawnicki, Linda Lindsay, Nona Lusby, Ginny Maturen, Becky Porter, Judy
Przybyla, Gerry Przeslawski, Jim Shafor,
Mary Slagle and Barb Trestain.
And for our Donators for the Bazaar:
Rosemary Aikins, Pat Corr, Bea Thibodeau, Jackie Bohn, Linda Lindsay,
Amy Purwin, Caretel, Wellbridge, Smart
Auto, Hamburg Bakery,
Regency at Whitmore Lake, Fantastic Sam’s, Jet’s Pizza, VG’s, Luna Salon, Dairy
queen, Hamburg Coney, Mimi’s Diner, Sea-gull’s Nest, Soaring Eagle Casino, Greek-
town Casino, Firekeepers Casino, Hamburg
Garage, Alpine Florist, Ward’s Do It Center,
Kroger Corp. & StoryPoint.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR
SUPPORT !!!
SSSSShhhhhhhhh…….Snow! Ice !!…...and other ICKS!!! Winter is here!! And that means Flu Season ……… colds ….….sore throats …………….yucky weather ……… the sniffles ……… and all the
rest of the icky stuff that I really dislike is here running rampant!!…………. So if you think the weather might be a little questionable and this includes
extreme cold (as I –25), ice & snow, please remember to call the center for a “closed” recording or check to see if the Pinckney Schools are closed
due to WEATHER conditions either using the radio or tv. If they are closed …...…...then guess what?? So are WE!! And don’t forget that this is Flu
and Cold season so if you feel sick or “not just right” PLEASE PLEASE STAY HOME until you feel better and are not contagious anymore ...………...not
only will you feel better faster; you won’t spread any germs around to members who may be already health-compromised !!
OK, I think I’m off my soapbox now!! Thank You!!

Michigan Law regarding Snow on Vehicles
On the day of our big snow
storm, December 12th, I
happened to read an article on snow
removal from vehicles that I was not aware
of. So I thought I would share it with all
of you. Did you know that if you have snow
piled on top of your roof while driving that
it is against the law?? I did not know that
even though I always remove it since it
covers up the rear window when you’re
driving. And, you are supposed to remove
snow and ice from your windshield, all
other windows, tail-lights and headlights.
Just thought I would remind you
all since this winter is supposed
to be rather snowy and let’s face
it, tickets are expensive.

the snow!! There must be many old photos tucked in
albums or boxes in your homes. These monthly themes
are a wonderful reason to look through your collections
again and pull out a picture or two to share with us.
As always, all photos will be returned at the end of each
month in the large envelope on the lower left corner of
the photo board located next to our library. You are also
welcome to suggest themes for upcoming
months as well!

Floor Waxing
In case you did not pay attention to the calendar, we are going to be closed on Friday, January 27 all
day. I have a floor waxing company coming in to strip and
re-wax the linoleum floors throughout the senior center. I
know it’s winter and they are just going to get yucky again but I
finally have found another company that does this type of
work. It’s taken awhile but now that I found them I plan on having them come in either quarterly or every 4 months to maintain the
floors properly. The floors need a good 24 hours at least to cure
before we have people walking all over them hence a Friday closure!!
I honestly cannot wait to have pretty floors again !!! :)
Miracle Ear Janis from Miracle Ear is
changing the day she is usually here. She will be here on or before: Monday, March 20,
2017. No appointment is necessary however if you need
a full hearing test we need prior notice so she can bring all
