PROGRESS IS UNDERWAY IN DISTRICT 18:In March 2017, the Portland Water Bureau was awarded nearly $500,000 from the Energy Trust of Oregon for its new energy-efficient Hannah Mason Pump Station. The new station cuts annual energy costs by $163,000, saves 2.37 million kWh of electricity, and reduces 1.35 million pounds of CO2 in the atmosphere.
Walking Point Farms, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business based in Tigard, specializes in the development of biochar-based seed coatings and soil amendments. Its products help to sequester carbon, boost agricultural yields, and improve survival rates of native seeds following wildfires.
