Reducing Inrush Current is essential :
* When starting from weak power supplies like fully loaded transformers, long cables, diesel generators, etc.
Reducing mechanical shock is essential :
* To increase life expectancy of belts, gears, shafts and motors.

Stopping with a standard soft starter - when pumping to a higher
elevation, motor torque may quickly fall below load torque (as torque
decreases at the square of voltage reduction). This may cause abrupt

Starting from a Diesel-Gen.
When starting from older D.G. sets (especially those equipped with low cost Voltage Regulators) both voltage and frequency are unstable, causing irregular firing of the thyristor. The RVS-DN is equipped with a special program overcoming the voltage and frequency instability.
To operate Gen. Mode set Dip Sw. 3 to On and energize the Dual Adjustment Terminal. When operating in Generator mode, motor must be loaded.
When motor can operate from Mains and D.G (stand-by D.G) set Dip Sw. 3 to On. However, Dual Adjustment Terminal should be energized only when D.G. is running.
