OverviewCosmetic Tattooing is also known as semi permanent make up, permanentcosmetics and micropigmentation. A diploma course will teach you how to createtop and bottom eyeliners, hairstroke, block and powder effect eyebrows anddefinition and colour for lips. The course is a balance of theory, demonstrationsand practical work on both practice materials and volunteer models.

We holdregular professional development seminars for our trainers and our team hastravelled and trained to ensure we develop and teach you the very latesttechniques. Who should attend?This course is the entry point for individuals who either wish to set up theirown cosmetic tattooing business or who would like to enhance the treatmentsoffered at a salon or clinic. You do not need to have any prior experience or abeauty background but must have a steady hand and the will to succeed. The course will take you from complete novice to a fully confident, certifiedpractitioner.

What is the price of my training course?The training element is £3,950+VAT. You then add on the cost of your choiceof training kit. The total is usually around £6,950+VAT.

RUNNING ORDER – The course lasts a total of 5 days: Home study from training manual prior to commencing the course.

Day 1Classroom theory, simulated practicalwork and demonstration

Day 2Classroom theory followed by handson practical with models

Day 3Hands on practical – theory inmotion

Day 4Hands on practical, re-cap andevaluation of learning

Day 5Presentation of completed portfolio, demonstration of techniques on yourmodel for your trainer. Review andverbal test of your knowledge andunderstanding.

Following the course all students will begin an apprenticeship period. During this time you develop a portfolio by documenting 12 case studies.

Once the above has been successfully completed you will receive your Diploma of Excellence and can launch your new treatment skills. You will receive a free listing on the ‘Find a Technician’ page on our website and we always recommend our graduates.

Finishing Touches can recommend insurance for you whilst you complete your case studies. This is FREE when you buy a kit.

Where do I find Clients? The moment you pay your deposit and arrange dates for your

training, Finishing Touches post you marketing material in the

form of leaflets and posters to begin promoting the procedures.

If you are not a salon owner, or you don’t have a client base to

approach, you can put posters up everywhere, at the gym,

health centre, local pool, schools etc.

You may wish to consider advertising and building an interest

in the procedures, even before you have completed your

training.

Many salons look for a Finishing Touches trained technician to

run a clinic and offer their clients semi-permanent make-up.

Start approaching salon owners now to see if there would be

an interest. You can offer a percentage of the profit from the

procedure, or a flat fee.

It is often a good idea to run an Open Evening and demonstrate

the procedure, offer a discount for those that book a procedure

as a result.

As a Finishing Touches trained technician you will be listed on

our find a technician page on our website.

Build your own website. Your trainer will teach you to take

photographs of all your procedures, take them carefully to

build a bank of images to promote your work. In the meantime

Finishing Touches have a disc of images that you can use to

produce a website.

Where shall I offer these procedures?

Insurance requires that you work from a dedicated room with a

washable floor and easy access to hot and cold running water.

Unless you have your own salon, a great way to reach as many

clients as possible is through other peoples premises.

Salon owners have requests for these procedures and you

can be their solution.

There is so much profit in each procedure that you can offer a

salon-owner a fixed rate or percentage of the procedure for

every one they book for you.

How much shall I charge?Finishing Touches suggest you charge around £300-£400 perprocedure. Do some research and find out what is being chargedin your area. Clients travel for miles to find a Finishing Touchestrained technician for a procedure, have confidence in the valueof what you are offering and keep prices high.

You can always offer a discount. It will cost you as little as £20in consumables to offer one of the procedures, the profit marginis huge!

Will I need to arrange clinical waste andsharps collection?Yes! Finishing Touches supply you with a sharps box as part

of your Diploma Kit for your needles, and all the rest of your

clinical waste. You must contact a local company and arrange

for this to be collected.

Do I need a licence?Yes! You will need to contact the council in your local area to gain

a health and safety licence to offer these procedures. Rest assured

Finishing Touches training and our Precision Plus adheres to all

current and foreseeable requirements.

Where will I get insurance?When you train with Finishing Touches and buy a Diploma

Kit you get your first year’s insurance as part of your kit, as a

Finishing Touches trained technician, subsequent annual

premiums will be around £185.

Where do I find my case studies?Your case studies are the launch pad for your marketing

campaign. Word of mouth is a powerful tool. Choose your case

studies carefully, offer the procedures to whoever will spread the

word about what you are offering and charge for them! By the

time you complete the 4 days of your Diploma Training you will

be offering beautiful natural looking semi-permanent make-up

procedures, we suggest you charge £75 for each case study.

If you have found a salon owner that is interested in you offering

procedures through her salon, offer the girls that work there

reduced rate procedure to launch your marketing campaign –

these can be your case studies.

How do I pay for my training and kit?Your training needs to be paid for in full, two weeks before your course commences.
