We also invest, with creative engineering services, in active environmental protection and our future by means of highly modern waste gas cleaning and energy recovery.

GLASS WAREhOUSE AnD CUTTInGThe various glasses pass through the individual processing steps directly from the glass warehouse. Modern production and processing systems guarantee maximum product quality. From order processing and quality control to delivery. The glass is automatically transported from the portal warehouse to cutting and assembled here according to picking lists for further processing.

Glass up to 2800 mm x 6000 mm can be processed with our bonding systems. Our laminated glass and laminated safety glass are produced in clean rooms. They become crystal-clear in the autoclave.

LAMInATED SAfETY GLASS (VSG)

Numerous design and innovative options are implemented here, depending on the application and usage areas. This bonding technology means that glass can be invisibly bonded, not only to glass, but also to metal, wood, stone and various plastics.

UV-BOnDInG

Semco Dur is a toughened safety glass (ESG). ESG is a tempered glass. It is produced with a special heat treatment. The glass is heated and then quenched with cold air. The rapid cooling produces tensile stress inside the glass and compressive stress on the outer glass surface. The tensile and compressive stresses are in equilibrium here. If the glass is broken, the ESG does not shatter like normal glass but breaks down into a fine „spider web“ network of blunt, small pieces of glass. This property increases safety. Further Semco Dur properties are increased bending and impact resistance, as well as thermal shock resistance.

Semco Safe is a laminated safety glass (VSG). During production, two or more superimposed glasses are firmly bonded together by means of one or more films of polyvinyl butyral (PVB). Semco Safe is a shard-binding glass. Semco Safe obtains this shard-binding property from the PVB film. Practically no sharp-edged shards fall away from the glass if broken. The elastic interlayer film also ensures a certain remaining bearing capacity. This reduces danger of injury and increases active safety.

Semco Color is a clear, toned or coated glass backed by a light and weather-resistant color enamel. Compared to float glass, Semco Color has a higher impact, break and temperature resistance. Due to its functionality, Semco Color is particularly suitable for application areas with high hygienic requirements. Semco Color is therefore a modern alternative to the usual ceramic tile panels in the kitchen or bathroom.

ADVAnTAGES• Essentially free color choice possible (prior sampling recommended).• Due to the glass surface, the color enamel takes on depth.• Reproduction for room accessories.• Excellent alternative to tile panels in application areas with high hygienic requirements. No joints or gaps produced where bacteria or germs could lodge.• Enamel colors free of heavy metals.

nOTEThe finished product cannot be processed any further (e.g. drilling) after the tempering and firing of the enamel. It is manufactured as a stock size; socket holes, etc. must be made before the enameling process.

37Roofing that reflects the blue of the sky, visually exciting glass walls and designer furniture with color and light effects. Visions that were previously limited in practice due to color or glass technology reasons can finally be realised. Semco Color Vanceva combines the specific performance characteristics of laminated safety glass with a novel color film generation. This makes the construction material glass even more universal and attractive!

ADVAnTAGES• Color variations that are not possible with normally colored float glasses.• More than 1000 color combinations possible.• Mixed tones with up to five colors can be realised.• Different light permeability can be achieved with three different white films.• Light impermeable films round off the range.• Semco Color Vanceva has all the properties of a laminated safety glass (VSG) as the color film is a pigmented PVB film.

nOTESemco Color Vanceva is manufactured as a stock size. Subsequent processing of the finished product (e.g. drilling) is only possible if the laminate is made of float glass. Due to the increased heat absorption, implementation using toughened safety glass (ESG) or heat-strengthened glass (TVG) is recommended if several colored films are used. Subsequent processing is then no longer possible.

A coating can also be applied to the glass surface. The surface then has Teflon-style properties so that fingerprints and dirt are reduced to a minimum and can be easily removed.

ADVAnTAGES• Fluted bevels provide the glass with a 3D appearance.• The various fluted bevel patterns can be combined with different techniques such as e.g. screen printing or attached glass appliqués.• Fluted bevels achieve a particular brilliance on a satin-finished door.• It is possible to choose between matt or polished bevels.

Bevelled patterns are worked into the glass surface for Semco Design fluted bevels. The shape of the bevel is produced by the grinding tool and can be either C or V shaped. The width of the bevel can be varied by selecting an appropriate tool.

3341SEMCO PICTUREInteriors can be designed to your personal ideas with the various types of Semco Picture. Glass doors, wall cladding or partition walls become a special highlight. Semco Picture is particularly suitable for creative room design and topic-based shop design. Glass can be fully coated in one color with powder coating. Designs can also be applied to the surface in combination with a printed film and then burnt on. The sprayed-on powder melts on the surface into a plastic layer that forms a permanent and evenly dense coating.

42 SEMCO BOnDSemco Bond is a novel laminated glass consisting of one or two glass panes. The glass panes are bonded with an intermediate plastic film to a HPL finish (High-Pressure Laminate). Semco Bond is highly suited for use in interior design, trade fair construction and the furniture industry thanks to its combination of design and functionality.

ADVAnTAGES• Numerous structures and details appear to have a spatial depth due to the minimum 4 mm thick glass.• Excellent alternative to tile panels in application areas with high hygienic requirements. No joints or gaps produced where bacteria or germs could lodge.• The product is characterized by a great level of functionality with regards to cleaning and resistance to chemical and mechanical attacks on the surface.

nOTEESG can also be used for applications with high mechanical and thermal stresses. Semco Bond is manufactured as a stock size. Subsequent processing of the finished product (e.g. drilling) is only possible if float glass is used. Semco Bond is not a laminated safety glass, simply a laminated glass. However, in the case of a glass break, the shards will remain stuck to the plastic film!

46 SEMCO STEPGlass floors and other accessible glass surfaces are an effective medium for the transparent design of interior spaces. They contribute to the positive enhancement of light conditions in a building object. These elegant structures can be used as transparent flooring, dance floors, fair stands, stages or steps. Background lighting - clear, diffuse or even colored - can also set accents and emphasize the transparency of the glass.

nOTE:The glasses have at least one ground edge that should not be used as the visual edge. The structure of accessible glazing is generally made of a multi-pane laminated safety glass (VSG). To avoid damage, the statically-bearing glass packet is also protected by a cover pane. Float glass or heat-strengthened glass (TVG) must be used for the supporting glass structure. The cover pane consists of toughened safety glass (ESG) or TVG to increase the loading capacity and breaking strength.Accessible glass plates are not regulated building products. They require approval in individual cases by the highest construction supervision authority or a general construction approval. The German technical rules for the use of glazing with linear supports (TRLV: status 8-2006) basically regulate glazing that is supported linearly on all four sides up to the maximum dimensions of 1500 x 400 mm.

nOTE:FINIGLAS Veredelungs GmbH was the first glass finisher to receive the „General construction approval“ (Z-70.4-146) for curved float glass and curved VSG made of float glass. As a curve is essentially and uniquely determined by a total of five parameters (radius, bending angle, length of girth, pitch and chord length), an absolutely precise definition of the technically possible framework conditions is a challenge. Each of these individual parameters limits the curve in another manner.

It is sufficient to clean surfaces with clear water during routine cleaning of these glass products. It is best to use a sponge or soft cloth for this purpose. Most dirt can be removed with a light pressure in this manner.Excess water can be removed from the glass surface with a sponge or cloth. You can then dry polish the glass surface with a microfiber cloth.

CLEAnInG SEMCO GLAZInG PROPERLY

ATTEnTIOn!Please do not use any aggressive, caustic, acidic or alkaline cleaning agents. Cotton cloths tend to produce lint and should therefore not be used. You should also never use any scratching tools, razor blades or scrapers. They can leave visible and irreparable scores on the surface.

nOTEIf water is present over a longer period of time on the glass surface, residues can form. Rapid drying is therefore advantageous.

SEMCO DROP

Glass coated with the surface coating Semco Drop are particularly easy to clean as this coating simply allows water droplets to roll off without leaving residues. Dirt and lime scale deposits are significantly reduced.

nOTE We recommend using white glass for interior application designs as colors are displayed better and the appearance is clearer.
