    shall be undertaken for an

    academic period of two

    semesters.

    It shall be credited for three

    units per semester, with fifty- four

    to ninety training hours per

    semesters.

    A one summer program in lieu

    of the two semesters may bedesigned, formulated and

    adopted by the DND, CHED and

    TESDA, subject to the

    capability of the school and the

    AFP to handles the same.

    CLUSTERING Clustering of student

    from different education institutions

    during semestral or summer periods

    may be done for any of the NSTP

    component, taking into account

    logistics, branch of service and

    geographical locations. The host school

    shall be responsible in managing the

    program.

    CROSS-ENROLLMENT. School that do

    not meet the required number of

    students to maintain the optional ROTC

    and any of the NSTP components, or do

    not offer the component chosen by the

    students shall allow their students to

    cross-enroll to other schools,

    irrespective of whether that school is

    under CHED or TESDA.

    Students intending to cross-enroll shall

    be subject to the existing rules and

    regulation of the school of origin and the

    accepting school.

    The school authorities shall exercise

    academic and administrative supervision

    over the design, formulation, adoption and

    implementation of the different NSTP

    components in their respective schools.

    Schools which have contractedCHED- accredited or TESDArecognized NGOs to formulateand administer training modulesfor any of the NSTP componentsshall jointly exercise suchacademic and administrativesupervision with those NGOs.

    CHED and TESDA shall issue the

    necessary guidelines for accreditation of

    NGOs and training modules to be utilize

    by these NGOs.

    CHED Regional offices, TESDA

    Provincial/District Offices and DND AFP

    shall oversee and monitor the

    implementation of the NSTP to determine

    if the trainings conducted are in

    consonance with the act.

    reports to the centraloffices of CHED,

    TESDA and DND.

    oGraduates of the non- ROTC componentsof the NSTP shall belong to the National

    Service Reserve Corps (NSRC) and couldbe tapped by the State for literacy andcivic welfare activities through the joint

    efforts of DND, CHED, TESDA, incoordination with DILG, DSWD, and otherconcerned agencies/associations.

    SUSPENSION OF ROTC

    The completion of ROTC training asrequisite for graduation is set-aside for students

    who have completed all their academic

    requirements for their respective courses as

    certified by the school on or before the

    effectivity of the NSTP Act of 2001 (March 23,

    2002). They may apply for graduation with their

    respective schools.

    TRANSITORY PROVISIONS

    oMale students who are not covered by the

    suspension of the ROTC requirements and

    are currently enrolled but have not takenany of the Military Service (MS), Civic

    Welfare Service (CWS) of Law

    Enforcements Service (LES) programsshall be covered by the NSTP law.

    oMale students who have completed two

    oMale students who have completed twosemesters of the Expanded ROTC (E-ROTC)/

    National Service Program (NSP) are deemed

    to have complied with the NSTP requirement.

    oMale students who are not covered by theROTC suspensions requirement and have

    taken only one semester of Basic ROTC shalltake one more semester of any of the NSTPcomponents to qualify for graduation.

    The following incentives to students are

    to be provided for when they take up NSTP:

    A program of assistance/incentives forROTC students DND which will be in

    accordance with existing laws and

    regulations and subject to the availability offunds.

    the health and accident groupinsurances are provided to the
