production, operations, quality, supply chain, personnel, financial, household, hostel……

• Generic Requirement :

Facilitating the achievement of the desired goal in an optimal manner

Goal of self management ?

• Lead a happy, peaceful life ! !

• Current state ? – Various kinds of “stress” :– work, health, family, social– A general sense of ‘lack’ ……– dukkha ( unsatisfactoriness )

• Can we do something to uproot it ?• Approach : Investigative / Reflective

• Let us investigate… how difficult it is to manage these.

• Thoughts difficult to control !...... Action, speech comparatively easier to control.

– Speech & actions governed by the state of the mind !

• Law of Nature : – actions done with impure mind lead to

suffering– actions done with pure mind lead to

happiness

Understanding Mind• States of mind

Impure mind => defilements : Cravings (greed,

pride, lust, ) Aversions( illwill, anger, hatred,

fear ), Delusions ( various kinds of misunderstandings ) [CAD]

Pure mind => friendliness, compassion- self less service, altruistic joy, gratitude, equanimity

• Self management => How to prevent defilements from entering the mind and remove those that have already made their way?

• Obvious requirement : Be Mindful !!
