Recent news from th e P h i l i p p i n e s i n d i c a t e s t h a t our summere v a n g e l i s t i c program has been in f u l l swing dur ing the vaca t ionmonths of A p r i l and May. Severa l teams have been involved i nt h i s program. One of these teams had-won 58 souls to the Lord by th e middle of May. No reports have been received concerning the other teams. Three youth camps were h eld ag ain th isyear. We w i l l share complete news on these when we r ec ei ve th e f i na l repor t .

APARRI BIBLE SEMINARY completed i t s 29th year the l a s t week of February. Th er e we reonly two graduates this year, the smallest class in several years . From a l l reports, theyhad a very fine year. The presence of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Beard was a tremendous blessingand we a re so happy tha t they have consented to stay in Aparri for another year.

THE CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOLS had 1,050 enrol led t h i s past school year and we have heardof a t leas t 180 of those being baptized into Christ . Over 200 were graduated from theseschools th e l a s t week of March. We hope to see a number of those graduates going to AparriBible

some kind ofspecia lized service for the

Lord. Manyothers

wil l be going into Colleges and Universities in Manila and other places to begin theirtraining to become teachers, doctors lawyers engineers etc. These ar e the men and womenwho can make i t possible for the Church in the Philippines to become financially independentand begin to accept responsibility for the complete support of the work in that country. Wehope the day is not too far away when they will also accept the responsibility for the evangelization of the other countries of Southeast Asia by sending Filipino missionaries intothose crucial areas and providing the financial support they will need for that grea t tas k.

CONSTRUCTION: The water tower for the Cagayan Valley Chi ldren s Home i s nearing completion. This will be a fully concrete tower. A windmill which will be built in our ownshop will be placed on top of i t to pump the water. In addition to this, foundations willsoon be laid for a 24 by 24 foot bui lding which will serve as a laundry and storeroom forthe Home. Soon af ter ou r return in th e early fa l l , we hope to begin construction on th eadministration and classroom building of th e proposed Christian Vocational-Technical HighSchool and Liberal Arts College. This wil l be a two-story building containing administrative offices, 18 classrooms library, laboratory and rest rooms. We ll need at least twoother rather large one-story buildings for vocational and technical subjects of a l l kinds.In addit ion to these educational b ui ld in gs ,w e p la n t o provide dormi to ri es for men and womenas well as a chapel building capable of sea ting several hundred students. We also want toget the building which will house a Radio Broadcasting Studio under construction just assoon as possible. With prices as they are today we expect these buildings to cost in theneighborhood of 15.00 per square foot. This will be a rather long term building programand we will move into each step of i t as th e Lord provides th e means to do so .

Many of you will be happy to know that we have incorporated our mission and have filedfor IRS exemption status. We would encourage all of you to make your checks payable toPHILIPPINEMISSION CHURCHESOF CHRIST OF NORTHERNLUZON This i s the registered name of thecorporation and i t will be in that name that you can have assurance of your gifts being taxdeductable when we receive tha t s ta tus from th e IRS. These developments are going to necessitate a change in our U S. address and ForwardingAgents. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Toiliverof Fairfield, NE have served in a most wonderful way as our forwarding agents for many, manyyears. Beginning August 1 our new Forwarding Agents will be Mr and Mrs. Robert W Selby,P. 0. Box 219207, Houston, TX 77218. Rob and Lory will be responsible for receiving andtransmitting funds and sending receipts for gifts received. They also will keep books ona ll gifts received and will be responsible for seeing that news-le tters are sent on a regular basis to all who are on our mailing l i s ts . We will appreciate your prayers for them.
