Introduction
In November 2014 the Duke University Libraries hosted the Triangle Scholarly Communication Institute (SCI). At the SCI the NCCU J.E.S.M. Library and NCCU Departments of History, and English and Modern Languages collaborated on a project titled: Presenting Positive Information about Sikhism Beyond the Textbook. This collaboration lead to the creation of a LibGuide titled Resources About Sikhism and Sikh Americans. Currently, this is the first dedicated LibGuide that presents online, print and social media sources about Sikhism.
Triangle Scholarly Communication Institute
• The Scholarly Communication Institute (SCI) aims to bring together groups of scholars, information scientists, librarians, publishers, technologists, and others from both inside and outside academia to articulate and begin to address needs and opportunities in the domain of scholarly communications. trianglesci.org
• Participants encouraged to think about how new technologies have radically changed how scholars get access to information, analyze it, transform it into knowledge, share insights, influence policy, and contribute to broader understandings and uses of the issues they study and including creators, contributors, collaborators, and audiences beyond the academy.
